Alumni Scholar Spotlight: Miley Ray ✨
We’re excited to spotlight OMWC alumna Miley Ray, a 2024 graduate who studied Croft Institute for International Studies at the University of Mississippi with a focus on international governance & politics. Today, Miley lives in Atlanta, GA, where she works as a Member Services Associate with World 50 Group.
Looking back on her time at Ole Miss, Miley says the Women’s Council opened her eyes to opportunities she didn’t even know existed, including rebelTHON, the Student Alumni Council & serving as an orientation leader. The support of her fellow scholars, council women & staff also gave her the confidence to pursue her goals.
When an advisor told her she couldn’t graduate in four years while pursuing her degrees, Miley turned to the OMWC office, where she received the encouragement & guidance to make it happen.
One of Miley’s favorite memories was a Red Plate Supper during her senior year, where Noceilings With Coach Yo ️ about gratitude. The reminder that we shouldn’t complain about having a “full plate” when we’ve prayed for opportunities has stayed with Miley into her professional life, helping her approach even challenging early career responsibilities as opportunities to learn & grow.
Today, she carries the confidence, leadership skills & relationships she developed through OMWC into her career in Atlanta. Her advice to current scholars? Lean in. Listen at Red Plate Suppers, attend programs, build relationships with your mentors & peers & take full advantage of the community around you.
