🩵 A little love for our therapy friends! 🩵

Dyslexia therapy is a commitment.

It isn’t something you do once a month and expect to see meaningful progress. Effective intervention requires explicit, systematic instruction delivered consistently and with enough intensity for new skills to become automatic. That means hours of instruction, practice, planning, commuting, repetition…and a whole lot of perseverance.

So before summer officially gets away from us, we HAVE to recognize the work that happened around here. 🥹

Our students showed up week after week ready to work. Their parents made the commitment to get them here. Mrs. Bunn spent countless hours planning, preparing, teaching, adjusting and encouraging.

And these kids WORKED.

Learning to read when your brain processes language differently is hard work. You are quite literally working to strengthen new pathways in the brain, and that is nottttt something we’re going to let go unrecognized around here. 👏🏼

Pictured below is Luke! 🩵 We are SO proud of him and all of our sweet therapy friends who spent part of their summer learning with us. And yes…they actually were ALL boys this summer. 😂🩵

At Tutor Tots, we don’t see a learning struggle as a disadvantage. We see it as a challenge that asks us to think differently.

Needing to learn something differently does not mean you aren’t capable of learning it. Sometimes we just have to find the pathway that works for YOUR brain.

Dyslexia and reading intervention have always been areas I am incredibly passionate about, and over the last several months I’ve had the opportunity to talk with so many of you about the challenges your children are facing. We are committed to continuing to grow the resources and support we can offer families in our community.

And for those of you waiting to hear from us about reading evaluations and dyslexia screeners, I haven’t forgotten you! 🤍 We are ironing out the final details now and will be reaching out to begin scheduling fall appointments soon.

Our fall schedule may actually take me out 🤪 but I promise I’m working on it!

For now, help us give these hardworking kiddos, their families, and Mrs. Bunn a BIG round of applause. 👏🏼🩵

We see the work. We see the perseverance. And we are so, so proud of you.

We learned, we played, we made new friends, we figured out new routines, and we officially kicked off another homeschool year at Tutor Tots!

Thank you SO much for your patience while we have been working in overdrive to prepare two spaces and get our homeschool year up and running. It has been a whirlwind, but such a good one!

I can’t wait to chat with everyone, get our afterschool tutoring + learning support schedules in place, and welcome all of our afterschool teachers and friends back!

Thank you for hanging with me during the back-to-school craziness. We are almost there! 🫶🏼

What a GREAT first day at the Homeschool House + Learning Lounge!

I am so incredibly grateful for the families who see the vision for our little non-conventional school and trust us with their babies. A place where kids truly get the best of both worlds. Solid, intentional instruction AND time with their friends to just be kids.

We can teach the standards. We can assess growth. We can provide meaningful instruction and hold our students to high expectations. And we can do all of that without sacrificing time with their families or asking them to spend their entire childhood confined to a classroom all day long.

I’m also so thankful for the teachers who trust me and all of my out-of-the-box thinking. I watched them plan, prepare, rearrange, problem solve, and then pour every bit of it into your kids today. There is something really special about having a group of educators who believe in what we’re building just as much as I do.

Tutor Tots really is one of those magical little places that you just have to experience to fully understand.

Here, we lead, love, and learn.

We teach. We assess. We grow. But above all else, we see the whole child. We meet them where they are, love them for exactly who they are, and work alongside their families to help them become everything they’re capable of becoming.

This isn’t always easy work. Building something different rarely is.

But goodness… it is my dream come true. 🤍

Happy first day, Tutor Tots. I have a feeling this is going to be our best year yet. ✨

Andddd for everyone who has been asking… information about our Homeschool Learning Support Pods is coming SOON! 👀 These will be for homeschool families looking for a little extra support in reading, math, and more without enrolling in our full-time program. If you’re interested, drop your email below and I’ll make sure you don’t miss registration!

After-school tutoring families: Schedules will start rolling out by the end of next week! Yay!!! If you haven’t filled out a tutoring request form yet, head over to our website and get that submitted so we can work on getting you matched and scheduled!

Seeing my once little babies all grown up and out in the wild always puts me in my feels.

This angel was in my first grade classroom once upon a time, and today he was the GROWN UP looking up at me from behind a desk. 🩵

It’s true, they really are always “your kids”.

Thanks for making my day, sweet Khalil. I’m forever proud of you. 🤟🏼

Open House #2!

Tonight we officially welcomed our big kids into their brand new space! Amber, Jess, and I have worked SO hard getting the Big Kids Lounge ready, and seeing our 4th–6th grade families in it tonight made all of the chaos worth it.

We are so excited for this new chapter of Tutor Tots and even more excited for the year ahead with this crew. See you Tuesday! 🫶🏼
