Description: If you have been admitted to a U.S. university and are looking for authentic information on the U.S. student visa process, join the upcoming Student Visa Information Sessions by EducationUSA India! A Consular (Visa) Officer from the U.S. Embassy will provide first-hand information on applying for a student visa.

Event 2: EducationUSA Pre-Departure Orientations at New Delhi and Chandigarh

Session Type: In- person

Date: Friday, June 21, and Saturday, July 13, respectively

Timings: 9:00 PM to 2:30 PM IST

Description: Many students getting ready to head to the U.S. have either got their visas or are getting them, which is the next step before leaving for the U.S. The Pre-departure Orientations will help students get first-hand information on various topics, from managing foreign exchange and flight booking to learning about academic integrity—helping them make the smoothest transition to their new lives.

EducationUSA’s Pre-departure Orientation sessions prepare students for academic and social life in the U.S. and ease their transition to a new life. We have a variety of resource persons who will share their knowledge and experience with you - meet the Department of Homeland Security, current students, and alumni- all of whom are carefully selected to give you a first-hand and comprehensive perspective on transitioning to academics and life in the U.S.

"I received an invitation to compete in Miami University's Presidential Fellows Showcase in Oxford, Ohio, back in February. Being shortlisted as a semifinalist was an honor, offering me the opportunity to compete among some of the most talented students from across the U.S. and the globe. Alongside a select group, I was thrilled to receive a full scholarship to attend Miami University, and I successfully completed my first semester this fall. My chosen major is Mechanical Engineering.

A couple of notes for future students. Be prepared to face any challenge life throws at you, especially when studying abroad while your home is halfway across the world. If you ever feel overwhelmed by the challenges, don't let them drown you; instead, seek help. Reach out to your friends, family, and school for support.

Also, be open to embracing all the adventures life presents. Numerous new opportunities will come your way, and all you need to do is say yes. While it's easy to say no to new opportunities, don't be afraid—embrace them and explore new things."
