Every testimony reminds us why The Recovery Room exists.

More than a retreat, it’s an intentional space for women to rest, be replenished, and experience God in deeply personal ways.

We are grateful for every life touched and every testimony of RESToration! 🌿

Last Quarter Recovery Room Retreat! ✅

There isn’t one way to explain the experiences at The Recovery Room Retreat. It is an intimate gathering of women seeking REST that brings RECOVERY.

Our Heavenly Father is infinite in His wisdom, multidimensional in His care, and intentional in His dealings with His daughters. Although we gather collectively, His ministry to us is deeply personal.

Every woman enters the room from a different place in life. Different seasons, responsibilities, struggles, expectations, and needs. Yet the Father, who knows every detail of our existence, is able to minister to each woman according to what He knows she needs.

What an extraordinary expression of the intimate knowledge and care of our Shepherd!

There are needs that cannot be articulated, burdens that have become so familiar they are no longer recognized as burdens, and places within the soul that have quietly suffered neglect while life continued to demand more.

And sometimes it takes coming away from everything familiar to recognize what has been happening within.

This is one of the foundational convictions of The Recovery Room: Rest is not simply the absence of activity. It is an intentional response to the care, instruction, and provision of God.

We believe that spiritual maturity must include responsible stewardship of our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. The same God who calls us to serve, build, lead, nurture, and pour into others also calls us to recognize our limitations and receive His care.

There is nothing admirable about continually neglecting the vessel while celebrating what pours from it.

And there is nothing unspiritual about acknowledging that recovery is necessary.

This past retreat was another profound demonstration of what happens when women make room for the ministry of God beyond the demands of their everyday lives.

There was rest. There was honest reflection. There was laughter, meaningful connection, prayer, and extraordinary expressions of love. There were sacred moments that could never have been scheduled or manufactured.

And perhaps one of the most beautiful expressions of the Father’s care was witnessing how He used the women in the room to minister to one another.

Sometimes the answer to a prayer is found in the obedience, compassion, and willingness of another person to become an instrument of God’s love.

The Recovery Room is not built around the idea that every woman arrives broken. We recognize that even strong, healthy, faithful, and fruitful women need intentional seasons of replenishment.

Even those who are doing well must learn to steward their well-being.

We must be careful not to normalize depletion simply because we have developed the capacity to function through it.

The invitation of Jesus to come away and rest remains relevant to every generation of believers.

And as we close this final quarterly retreat, our prayer is that every woman carries more than a beautiful memory home.

May the revelation become responsibility.

May the recovery produce healthier rhythms.

May the clarity lead to necessary decisions.

May the rest received become a way of living that reflects greater trust in the Father’s care.

Do not return to a way of living that continually requires you to recover from it.

Honor what God has restored. Guard what has been replenished. Take responsibility for what has been revealed.

The retreat may have ended, but the work of restoration continues.

To every woman who entrusted us with this sacred time, thank you. It has been an honor to serve you.

All glory belongs to God, who continues to prove Himself the Shepherd of our entire being.

1. COMPLEX POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Long-term childhood neglect can contribute to difficulties with emotional regulation, self-worth, and relationships.

2. MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER
Children who experience chronic neglect are at a higher risk of developing depression later in life.

3. POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Although often linked to abuse, severe neglect can also lead to trauma-related symptoms and PTSD.

4. GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER
Growing up without consistent emotional care can increase the likelihood of excessive worry and chronic anxiety.

5. BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER
Research has found that childhood neglect is one of several factors associated with an increased risk of developing borderline personality disorder.

6. SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS
Some survivors turn to alcohol or drugs in an attempt to cope with unresolved emotional pain.

7. EATING DISORDERS
Childhood neglect has been associated with a greater risk of disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder in some individuals.

8. DISSOCIATIVE DISORDERS
Some survivors cope by disconnecting from their thoughts, emotions, memories, or surroundings.

9. OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER
Some studies suggest childhood adversity, including neglect, may increase vulnerability to obsessive-compulsive symptoms in certain individuals.

10. SUICIDAL THOUGHTS AND SELF HARM
People who experience childhood neglect have a higher risk of suicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors than those who did not experience neglect. Early support and effective mental health care can reduce this risk.

💙 Childhood neglect does not mean someone will develop a psychiatric disorder. It increases the risk, but many people go on to lead healthy, fulfilling lives, especially when they receive early support, safe relationships, and appropriate mental health care.

The setup is always just as fun as the shower! 🩵

What JOY it was this weekend to celebrate the beautiful moms and families who came out to our Community Baby Shower!

We’ll be rolling out some special recap moments, but before we do, we have to say THANK YOU!

Thank you to every volunteer who gave your time, your hands, and your heart to help us serve well. And THANK YOU to every person, business, and partner who donated, supported, gave, shared, and helped us be a blessing to families preparing to welcome their sweet bundles of life!

Every pack of diapers. Every wipe. Every baby item. Every gift. Every giveaway. Every helping hand. It ALL helped us love on these families in a tangible way.

This is why we do what we do. We believe community should show up for people, not just in words, but in ways they can actually feel.

Three years of our Community Baby Shower, and it is still such a JOY to serve. 💛

To everyone who helped make this year special: THANK YOU for helping us love our community well!

More recap moments are coming! 🍼✨
