Talk about rising to the occasion! The Buckeye Boys State 2026 Band delegates hit the ground running on Sunday. After a lightning-fast 50-minute rehearsal, they went straight into the opening assembly and absolutely crushed a 7-song setlist.

Annually, the delegates of the Buckeye Boys State program form a band to provide musical entertainment for evening assemblies and special events. The band is one of the largest in the nation, with nearly 150 members participating each year. All traditional band instruments (woodwinds, brass and percussion) are participants in the group. The group practices about for about 1 hour each day and plays

It was arranged for the Buckeye Boys State Band, and we premiered the piece a couple of years ago. We look forward to pulling it out in just over a week when the 2026 Buckeye Boys State Band plays together for the first time!

Nobody sees the grind and the focus it takes for the Buckeye Boys State Band to lock in for daily performances throughout the week. šŗ
One hour. Think about that. A group of young musicians from across Ohio ā most of them meeting for the first time ā come together, rehearse for sixty minutes, and then perform at the assembly on the first day of BBS. The fact that it works isn't luck. It takes talent, efficiency, and incredible focus!

Being a part of the Buckeye Boys State Band isn't just about rehearsals and performances. The directors, staff, and legionnaires are passionate about ensuring that each delegate leaves BBS better than when they arrived. The Band staff and program volunteers are here to help you grow as musicians and as individuals throughout the week. You will have opportunities to connect with and learn from experts and to learn about opportunitiesĀ to play your instrument beyond high school.

The start of college football season is fun and all, but weāre much more excited about the kickoff to marching band season! This fall, we want to celebrate all our alumni who dedicate countless hours to practicing and performing to support the athletic teams at their respective colleges.
