Brian Smith, Executive Director of the Butler County Historical Society, visited the June 9 meeting of the Oxford Kiwanis Club where he took our group on a guided tour of locations in Butler County which are confined to our past and no longer exist. This fascinating journey stimulated ghosts of years ago and memories of days gone by.

The Oxford Kiwanis Club presented a check to the Oxford Girl Scouts on Tuesday, June 2 to assist in covering some of their expenses throughout the year (rental, trips, travel). The Girl Scouts is one of the many community organizations supported through the Oxford Kiwanis Service Leadership Program.

On May 26 member Mike Rudolph conducted the annual review of specific guidelines which the Kiwanis organization has developed for the purpose of ensuring that a safe environment is maintained for the children we serve.

5/19/2026: At the weekly Oxford Kiwanis Club meeting, Coach Martin spoke about his lifelong passion for football and the evolving landscape of college athletics. He discussed the major changes brought about by NIL opportunities and the transfer portal, noting both the challenges and opportunities they create for college programs.
Coach Martin shared his belief that Miami University is making strong progress in adapting to these changes. He also expressed hope that future reforms might limit the number of times student-athletes are permitted to transfer between schools.
Above all, Coach Martin’s enthusiasm for coaching remains as strong as ever, and he is looking forward to leading his team into the upcoming season.

Several Kiwanis members noted that they have encountered the distinctive Wild Berry displays in shops and stores around the world—a testament to the company’s remarkable success and global reach.

Thank you, Oxford community! The 70th Pancake Day was an incredible success. Thanks to your support, more than $30,000 was raised to benefit programs for children in our community—and over 900 people came out to enjoy the pancakes. 3/28/2026: At the Oxford Kiwanis Club meeting, members enjoyed a fascinating presentation by Dr. Yildirim Dilek, University Distinguished Professor of Geology and Environmental Earth Science at Miami University.
Dr. Dilek shared the geological history and changing landscape of the Midwest, with special focus on Ohio over the past 20,000 years. He explained how glaciers helped shape much of western Ohio and noted that, before the Ice Age, the Ohio River once flowed northward.
It was an engaging look at the powerful natural forces that formed the region we call home today.
