Not only are our graduate students gaining valuable experience in internships this summer, many are also working on their thesis projects. Faith Dalton is interning at Wold VPS in Evansville, Ind., where she helps with the firm's higher-ed and K-12 projects. She also went on a first site visit for her thesis project to the former Otwell Elementary School in Pike County. The school closed for the first time in 2016, and again in 2024. "I am looking forward to bringing attention to the issues many rural communities are facing when they lose a school, and how these institutional building can be transformed into spaces that support healing and security," she said.

Congratulations to our undergraduate and graduate Department of Architecture and Interior Design students! Here is a shot of some of our graduate students with chair Liz Martin-Malikian and Miami alumnus and actor Dion Graham. We wish all the 2026 graduates the best! For our returning students, we wish you a safe and rejuvenating summer.
Second-year studio students had a wrap-up, deconstruct-their-desks day on Monday, fueled by pizza and good humor from their teaching team.
Friday's end-of-year show was a great way to cap off the academic year and recognize accomplishments of students and faculty alike. Good luck, students, with remaining final exams!
