Assalamu Alaikum and Eid Al Adha Mubarak!!!

The Oxford MSA is organizing van transportation to Masjid Al-Farooq on Friday 9/1 for Eid prayer. Van departure is at 7 am in order to make it to prayer on time. Pick up from the Masjid will be between 9:30 and 9:45. We should be back on campus by 10:30 am. Eid prayers happen only twice a year. Most professors should be fine if you ask them about missing a class for a religious holiday, so don't miss out on this opportunity!!

The MSA Sophomore Executives are very excited to work with these new members this year! :)

As many of you now know, we lost two of our own Emory and Oxford community members in the deadly terror attack that took place two days ago, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Abinta Kabir and Faraaz Hossain were amongst the 22 victims of this tragic event. The Emory and Oxford MSAs send their condolences and prayers to the family, friends, and Emory community as a whole. We are here to offer any support and comfort to our fellow community members during this difficult time, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
In light of such a tragedy we can only hope to come together to honor the victims and their families. Please join the Emory and Oxford MSAs, Office of Spiritual and Religious Life, BASE, and Campus Life on Thursday July 7th at 1 PM in Canon Chapel for a vigil service held Emory University’s Atlanta campus to honor our beloved Faraaz and Abinta as well as all of the other victims of the horrific Dhaka attack. Assalamu Alaikum (Peace Be Upon You) all,

Hopefully all of you are enjoying the Friday. So, as most of you know, we pray Jummah (Friday Prayers) every Friday in the chapel at 2 PM. So, recently Dr. Saadein proposed the idea of praying Dhuhr together everyday, since some of us do it regularly anyway. My fellow prayer attendees and I really liked the idea because it will help foster the Muslim Community on campus more and anyone is welcome to participate or come watch us :) If you are interested and available in one of the weekdays, to pray Dhuhr, please contact me at [email protected]. This Tuesday MSA and French Club will be hosting a candle light vigil in honor of the victims who's lives were lost int he recent trageties around the world. Please take some time to come out and think of those who have been affected. Together we can help bring light during these dark times.
