We are thrilled to share that Bad Ideas about AI and Writing, a brand-new anthology from WAC Clearinghouse, is officially published and available via open access!

Huge congratulations to our own Mandy Olejnik, who served as an editor for the book and co-authored Chapter 26: “AI Can Write Like an Expert in Any Discipline ✨ AI Can Help You Understand How Experts Use Writing”

The collection is chock full of ways to transform "bad ideas" into 'generative' ideas about GenAI and writing, ideas that spur creative new directions in the education and practice of writing.

Featuring of 48 "micro chapters," the book is intended to be accessible to students, and many of the chapters might make for an engaging in-class discussion.

Big thanks to our guests yesterday for our workshop on AI and Human Networks for Writing Support, moderated by Mandy Olejnik and held at the Farmer School of Business.

Geoff Zoeckler (John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship) gave a really thoughtful presentation on techniques for using AI in the classroom while still encouraging the reflective practice that makes writing such an important part of developing critical thinking skills.

Lizzie Hutton and undergraduate consultant Kelsie Weingart (HCWE) explored the ways that human feedback excels over AI tools in assisting collegiate writers who might be struggling with the writing process.

We have one workshop left in the semester coming up this Thursday, on using audio and video feedback to help save time on grading final projects!
