Attention OIEE Alumni!! Spring is in the air and that means its time to recruit this year's workshop participants!

As an OIEE alum, you play a vital role in recruiting new applicants, and we need your help. We hope that you will pass along information about the workshop and encourage your colleagues to apply.

And, while sharing the joy of OIEE is its own reward, we are not above bribery. So, any OIEE alum who recruits an applicant will receive their choice of either a $15 gift card from Nature Watch, Carolina Biological Supply, or Barnes & Noble, or a 2015 OIEE T-shirt to add to your collection.

The application is available on our website: http://oxford.emory.edu/oiee/summer-workshops/apply-now

Interested in a paid summer teaching opportunity? Camp Invention is starting a new program in Newton County and looking for certified teachers.

Camp Invention (www.campinvention.org)—a program designed to foster entrepreneurship and STEM enrichment for 1st- through 6th-grade students—is looking for certified teachers for this year’s camp. The program will be held this summer on the Oxford College campus and will run for roughly 6 hours/day for 1 week (5 days) during the summer (dates to be determined). Camp Invention provides the curricula, step-by-step instructions, promotional support, instructor training, and program materials. They also provide compensation for each instructor. The instructors gain direct experience integrating STEM content with student-centered instructional strategies. In an evaluation survey, instructors report more willingness to incorporate use of inquiry, problem solving challenges, entrepreneurship concepts and hands-on experiential learning into their future teaching.

Low-cost dorm housing is available for those that are interested but live too far to commute each day.

In addition to teachers, Camp Invention is also looking for a camp director. The director does not have to be a certified teacher and would receive full support and detailed instructions for leading the camp.

If you are interested, please contact Danielle Dockery, either by email at [email protected] or by phone at 770-784-4754 (direct line).

Nationally recognized, non-profit elementary summer enrichment program backed by the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
