The winning organizations implemented innovations that have made positive, breakthrough change in the care of serious illness. Out of the nearly ✨100✨ initiatives submitted, there are three winners (one gold, two silver), and five finalists.
The Winners are 🥁 ➡ GOLD: Prospect Medical Holdings - Coordinated Regional Care (CRC), RI (Prospect Medical Holdings). SILVER: Washington State Department of Health and Children's Nebraska.
Finalists ➡ Moffitt Cancer Center, The MERI Center for Education in Palliative Care at UCSF (UCSF, UCSF Health), Novant Health, and The Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University and The Pennsylvania State University representing Preference Based Living (Penn State, Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing and Miami University at Preference Based Living).

AFA uses teal because it has been shown in color psychology studies to be a calming color. This is helpful when designing and decorating spaces and events to be welcoming and comforting to those living with Alzheimer’s. So, next time you see someone dressed in teal, remember the more than 6 million people living with Alzheimer’s and the help they need.
