Gearing Up!
As the bustle of “back to the grind” starts to set in and summer tries to end - slow down.
Enjoy the remaining long evenings that are starting to cool enough fit for pits. Finish off the open bag of roasting marshmallows.
Plan the fall veggies for your pots or garden. Ease back into routine and do not let the retail gods decide your timing.

I’ve just returned from a much needed vacation after a harsh winter. And I was under the weather for the whole of the vacation. But that’s OK.
My circumstances and my environment were different. The scenery was different.
My husband had to school me in the concept of it being OK to not feel like I had to take advantage of every opportunity presented to get involved, to do, to go.
While I may not have had the energy I’d have liked to fully enjoy all the offerings, I had the freedom to enjoy where I was, and the option to rest.
Sometimes, seeing things with a new viewpoint or frame of reference is all you need to feel picked up. Friends and trusted family in your life can help with this - it’s so important to keep them in your loop.
Rest is important. If an optional obligation brings more stress than enjoyment, weigh saying,”yes” carefully. It’s OK to guard your energy.
Be well. Be happy. Be strong.

Work Hard. Be purposeful. But never forget to take time to enjoy where you are, and more importantly, who you’re with! And yes - that can be you!

You are NOT your spouse’s parent nor conscience. Let that go. They will step up or not. Too many people lose themselves trying to “better” or be responsible for their spouse. You aren’t in control of them. Just be in control of you.

Stealing a photo of scripture from my devotional (by Gretchen Saffles) this morning…for those struggling in all manner…a reminder that Christ persevered through the worst of the worst and through Him we can persevere through all things. Keep your focus not on human failures, but on the Hope and Promises of God in Scripture.

Are you having a tough time with the Thanksgiving Holiday?

Shift your focus from what’s missing to what you have.

Move your attention from what you want to how you can help others less fortunate.
(Like donate money or work at a soup kitchen.)

Count your blessings. Do you have a roof over your head? A job? A bank account? A person you love? Someone who loves you?

Thanksgiving is all about perspective.

Have a meaningful holiday this year, and be a blessing to someone - maybe even to yourself.

Walking the line? No such thing.

Walking the line? No such thing.

CHEATING is: Secret texting. Hiding your browsing history. Giving others special attention. Adding attractive strangers online. Flirting with someone else. If you're seeing these patterns, it'll get worse. A strong relationship can't be built with someone who still wants outside attention.

It's a breach of trust, a betrayal of intimacy, and a disrespectful exploitation of your partner's vulnerability. When someone's seeking validation, attention, or connection outside of their relationship, it's a sign of deeper issues. It's a lack of emotional maturity, a fear of intimacy, and a selfish disregard for their partner's feelings.

Don't ignore the red flags, don't downplay the behavior, and don't make excuses for it. If someone truly values and respects you, they'll respect your boundaries, they'll prioritize your relationship, and they'll communicate openly. Anything less is a recipe for heartache and disaster. You deserve better, and so does your partner.

A person who builds themself up by belittling another is a small person, indeed.
