McGuffey’s Preschool Playground is a free program that is open to the community and is an opportunity for children to come together for socialization, play, and informal learning. It is held every Monday on McGuffey Montessori School’s main playground from 10:00am-12:00pm, June 1-August 10 (we skip June 29).

There is no fee, but a parent or guardian must be present with their child during their stay.
Any weather-related cancellations will be posted on McGuffey’s home page, so check in if it looks like it might rain.

The upper cookie represents the lithosphere, the creamy filling the asthenosphere, and the lower cookie the lower mantle. Everyone agreed the Double Stuff version of the Oreo Cookie works best in this experiment!

The Upper Elementary students are using Particle Zoo’s History of the Universe plushies to explore how our universe came to be. The plushies go from the Planck epoch (the earliest “time” in Big Bang theory) to the universe as it exists today. This is a fun, hands-on Montessori work that makes difficult concepts accessible for younger students.
