At Owosso Public Schools, being a District of Opportunities means creating meaningful experiences that help students learn, grow, and thrive, which includes opportunities for our future healthcare professionals, too.

Through an exciting partnership between Owosso Public Schools, Baker College, and the University of Michigan-Flint School of Nursing, school nurses Carissa and Emily are helping bring real-world health education directly into our elementary classrooms.

Future nurses are gaining hands-on experience in community and public health education while making a meaningful impact on our youngest learners. From sleep hygiene, dental health, and nutrition to bike safety, playground safety, stress management, and more, nursing students are delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that help students build healthy habits, make informed choices, and develop skills that last a lifetime.

Community partnerships and interactive learning create healthier students and a stronger future for everyone!

Several Owosso Middle School students had their artwork printed in the Goodfellows' “Wrap a Child in Warmth” newspaper. This annual publication is sold locally to raise funds to purchase warm winter clothing for children in our community.

Yesterday at the end of the school day, Owosso High School students sent the Owosso Equestrian team members and Varsity Golfer off to their state competitions in true Trojan Nation style! Join us in cheering for Equestrian Team members Dylan Pauldine and Evelynn Gillett, and Varsity Golfer Sami Ross as they compete in their respective state finals in the coming days!

Congratulations to the Owosso High School Trojan Marching Band!

The Trojan Marching Band (TMB) performed at District 5 Marching Festival on Monday, October 12, at St. Johns High School. The TMB earned a first division rating in all captions of Marching, Music and General Effect/Showmanship resulting in “straight ones” and an overall first division rating. The band earned “straight ones” and also earned all A's and A+s in every subcategory in every caption.

🔵Owosso Bands have earned a first division rating at every marching festival since 1957. 🟡

Head Band Director Mrs. Jillian Kowalczyk shared, “It is truly an honor and a privilege to uphold the tradition of excellence established within this program while proudly representing our school and community with integrity and respect, both locally and across the state. At its heart, the Owosso Band program is about more than continuing a legacy of musical success; it is about helping students grow, learn the true meaning of teamwork, and take pride in being part of something bigger than themselves.”

The Instrumental Music staff of Jillian Kowalczyk, Jordan Sterk, and Ericka Mitchell would like to thank the outstanding band parents, supportive community members, and incomparable students of the Owosso Band Program for their time, effort and commitment to the band. TMB students - We sincerely appreciate all of your hard work and dedication and are honored to be your teachers!

A special thank you also to our Band Boosters and parent volunteers who gave their time to make this event a positive and worthwhile experience for our students.

🏀 Youth Basketball Camp Grades K–3
A great opportunity for our youngest players to learn basketball fundamentals, build confidence, and have FUN on the court!

🏀 Red Cedar Basketball League
The Red Cedar Basketball League gives athletes the chance to develop their skills while experiencing competitive team play. Whether your child is just getting started or ready for more competition, there’s an opportunity to get in the game!

On October 5, 45 dance students from mid-Michigan were selected to perform at the Detroit Pistons' season home opener based on their outstanding regional performances with their respective dance studios. Owosso Middle School and Owosso High School contributed six of those talented dancers to the preseason game: Scarlett Duffield, Kennedy Buza, Raygan Raatz, Issac Feldpausch, Isla Britten, and Leila Ariss. Congratulations!

OHS Homecoming 2026

Trojan Nation, get ready for Homecoming! Owosso High School is celebrating “Passport to Paradise” with a weekend full of tradition, school spirit, and Trojan pride.

Friday, October 9
🏝️ Homecoming Parade begins 5:30 p.m.
The parade begins at Fayette Square and travels to Willman Field.
🏈 Homecoming Football Game kicks off at 7 p.m.
The Trojans take on Brandon at Willman Field. Join us as we cheer on our team and celebrate our 2026 Homecoming Court!

Saturday, October 10
🌺 Homecoming Dance, 7–10 p.m. at Owosso High School

Congratulations to Owosso Equestrian team members Dylan Pauldine and Evelynn Gillett on their success at the regional competition this past weekend! This dynamic duo is headed to the state finals in Midland, October 14-18, to compete in their fifth consecutive state meet!
