So proud of these three!!! 💙❤️💛

Owosso High School’s own SkillsUSA Michigan State Officers, Aubrey Boggs, Lillian Mead, and Curt Warner, had an incredible opportunity to represent Michigan while attending the Washington Leadership Training Institute (WLTI)!

Throughout this experience, they developed valuable leadership, communication, and professional skills while meeting with senators and representatives to advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) and the opportunities SkillsUSA provides to students across the nation.

They also had the honor of earning their National Statesmen Award, while representing SkillsUSA with professionalism and pride. We are proud of Aubrey, Lillian, and Curt for their dedication to leadership, advocacy, and representing Michigan in Washington, DC!

Exciting day at Owosso High School. SchoolstoTools.org Mobile Field Trip visited our school to introduce students to Carpenter and Millwright apprenticeship opportunities. Students experienced hands-on experiences such as: driving nails and screws, framing mini walls, playing trivia, interacting with virtual reality headsets & welding, and interacting with current apprentices. What a great way to end our week.

The third day of the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference brings Championship Awards and revealed the upcoming State Officer Team.

Owosso High School had four students compete on Saturday and all worked very hard to prepare for their individual competitions. I’m excited to announce that Curt Warner placed first in Job Skill Demonstration A and qualified to represent Michigan at the National Conference and Aubrey Boggs placed second in Principles of Engineering contest. Our students were also recognized for earning their State Statesmen Award and participation in the Skilled and Educated Challenge (earning two really cool pins). Additionally our school was recognized with a Chapter of Excellence Distinction.

Owosso High School has three students run for state office and after interviews, speeches, networking with delegates, and an election of their peers in proud to announce all three were elected to office amd Aubrey Boggs appointed Treasurer.

Lately, I must mention that I ran into some really great Alumni!!

What a great weekend full of challenges and new memories. Congrats to all who participated, you are all Champions!!!
