It was a lot of work, but we had a blast (pun intended) launching rockets tonight. Of the eight that we launched tonight and two yesterday, only one parachute deployed. Even in failure, one can learn and improve! Mr. Crowder secured this grant for these rockets from the Civil Air Patrol, and we are thankful to that US Air Force auxiliary for their commitment to education. this was our first attempt, and we plan to regroup in a month or two for a second round of rocket building and launching. We will be investing in some larger model rockets as we continue to grow and shoot for the stars! Speaking of the stars, we have also secured a second grant for four large telescopes and will be unveiling those this winter as the celestial viewing season gets closer.
