OMS volleyball will be hosting open gym times on Tuesday-Thursday June 9th-11th from 9-11 a.m. each day.

This is for any incoming 6th-8th grade girl. Drop off and pick up at back gym doors closest to the track!

The OMS Summer Camp courtyard cleanup is complete. Several campers worked really hard today building, sanding, and staining new picnic tables. While that was taking place, many other campers trimmed trees, installed w**d barriers, planted shrubs, and mulched. The results look amazing!
A huge shout out to the OPS Maintenance Dept for trimming down a large tree that allowed us to start this project, and to several OMS staff including Stephanie Curry-Fulkerson, Drew Murray, Storm Rickard, Sonya Ray, and Dakota Ward. Great job everyone !

🎉 Congratulations to our beloved Mrs. Cheri Searcy on her well-earned retirement! 🎉

OMS has been so blessed to have Mrs. Cheri with us, and saying goodbye is truly bittersweet. Her kindness, helpfulness, and warm spirit have made a lasting impact on every student and staff member she has touched. We are going to miss her more than words can say! 💛

Mrs. Cheri has been married to her husband Scott for 41 wonderful years, and together they have built a beautiful family — 3 kids (6 including in-laws) and 7 precious grandchildren! Four of those grandkids are right here in the Owensboro Public Schools family, which tells you everything you need to know about how much she loves this community. 🏈📣

She came to us from Foust Elementary, where she had already built such special bonds with her students there. She has so much to celebrate this year — including her grandson who just graduated from OHS after a wonderful run playing football and running track. She also has a granddaughter who cheers and two little ones at Newton Parrish, where her daughter assists in kindergarten. Mrs. Cheri is always OPS' biggest fan! 💙

In retirement, we know she'll be enjoying time with her family, her beloved cats, her puppy 🐾, and the perfect balance of getting out and relaxing at home — because that's just the kind of well-rounded, wonderful person she is.

Thank you, Mrs. Cheri, for everything you gave to OMS. We love you and wish you all the best in this exciting new chapter! 🌟

Our 8th graders wrapped up their middle school journey with a fun cookout yesterday! We are so proud of this amazing class and all they have accomplished during their time with us.

We know they will continue the tradition of excellence at OHS next year, and we can’t wait to see all they achieve in high school! ❤️🖤

We hope all of our students, staff, and families have a safe, relaxing, and fun summer break. Enjoy your summer, and we’ll see everyone again in August! ☀️

Students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades took the stage to showcase their amazing talents through singing, dancing, musical performances, and more. We are so proud of the confidence, creativity, and hard work they displayed during every performance!

A special shout-out to Mrs. Priddy, Ms. Fuller, and our Student Ambassadors for organizing and running the show. Their hard work behind the scenes helped make the event such a success!

Mrs. Gray’s class is wrapping up the school year with some Camp Reading fun! 📚🏕️ Students have been enjoying cozy reading activities, teamwork, and making special memories together as we celebrate a great year of learning.
