Sometimes the smallest tools make the biggest difference.
Thanks to a Foundation for DCPS Inspire Grant, every classroom at Meadow Lands Elementary School now has access to calming tools that help students regulate emotions, refocus, and return to learning. From weighted lap blankets and sensory tubes to breathing boards and peaceful seats, these supports are helping students build independence, confidence, and self-regulation skills.
As one student shared, "It helps me feel happy."
