Explorers Paul McClellan, Lexi Keesler, Dominic Jackson, and Emily Scheidegger graduated from the Kentucky Law Enforcement Explorers academy on June 17th, 2016

Congratulations to our Explorers for being recognized for their hard work this past year!

A big thanks to officers Jared Ramsey and Aaron Hamilton for their training on Rapid Deployment.

Explorer post 766 wishes to thank officer Brian Crosley for some excellent defensive tactics training.

The Kentucky Law Enforcement Explorer Academy (KLEEA) was established in 2007 to train Police Explorers across the state of Kentucky and surrounding states about a career in the law enforcement field.

The Academy acts as a basic training academy for the explorers where the participate in classroom and practical exercises. The different training the explorers receive range from Crisis Negotiation, Active Shooter, Domestic Violence, Defensive Tactics, Traffic Stops, Collision Investigation, and Report Writing.

The explorers also do physical training every morning where they work on sprinting, core exercises and prepare for the state Police Officers Profession Standards Physical Agility Test that they complete the last day of the academy.

The Last day of KLEEA the explorers march in a parade escorted by the explorer honor guard and police cars from the various agencies attending followed by a banquet where the graduating explorers are recognized in front of their family, friends and peers.

KLEEA is not for everybody but is a fun time and a great learning experience.

Some of our Explorers were thrilled to be put on the spot in front of a packed house of Camp K.O.P.S. campers and parents!! Regardless, once again, the Explorers were an invaluable part of camp!

Explorer post 766 had a great training exercise on Friday, the 21st. a big thanks goes out to officers Ramsey, Hamilton, and Green for an excellent training in tactital deployment.

Just got back from KLEEA Academy meeting in Elizabethtown. Dates are June 9-13. Campbellsivile University. Start your pushup, situp and cardio workout now so you will be prepared for what is in store for you this summer.

We had a great presentation last night. Big thanks to K-9 Handlers Gary Mattingly and Chris Watkins for a great show.

Today our members assisted the Owensboro Police Department with "Operation Santa." 200 food baskets were assembled and delivered to 200 Meals on Wheels recipients within our community.
