Avery Shacklette epitomized the Wesleyan Way in every sense of the meaning.
A four-year member of the Kentucky Wesleyan womenโs golf team, Avery represented her program with unmatched class and pride. On campus, she served on the SAAC executive committee and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors as part of the Class of 2026.
Avery was even more impactful in the Owensboro community. She gave countless hours to Wendell Foster, making her name nearly synonymous with the organization. She also served on the Friday After 5 board, creating a lasting impact on the downtown celebration that will not soon be forgotten.
Avery took on all of these responsibilities with a smile that radiated in any room she walked into. She was a Kentucky Wesleyan Panther through and through, and her memory will always have a home here.
Owensboro is a better place because of Avery Shacklette. Please keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
