About the director,
Let me introduce myself, my name is Wade Coley and I love music! I am a christian and attend Grace Reformed Baptist Church here in Owensboro. I have been blessed with a beautiful wife, Peggy, and six wonderful children, whom we homeschool. I graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the John Hopkins University, MD, with Bachelor's degrees in trombone performance and
music ed. I started my career in the Baltimore County School System teaching instrumental and vocal music K-5. Other activities include playing in the King's Brass, directing the Baltimore County Honors Boy Choir, working with Honors and All State band auditions, freelancing, composing, and arranging. In addition, I have over 17 years experience directing both children and adult choirs. My favorite hobby is composing and arranging professionally and for my students. My elementary students worked hard each year, and enjoyed competing at the Music in the Parks at Hershey Park, PA, where both the band and orchestra were rated Superior and won 1st place four years in a row. In 1995, I created and directed the Jacksonville Summer Music Academy, which became the Carroll Music Rec Music Program in Jacksonville, MD, offering beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes in violin, cello, brass, woodwinds, and percussion for 28 years. This program has been a great success with the community, and I am thrilled to start my Owensboro Music Academy here in Owensboro. My family and I have been very happy here in Owensboro. I started up Owensboro Music Academy in 2022, which has grown quickly. In 2024, I took on the position at Praise Ensembles where I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced strings. Wade Coley
