Exciting news for our Owasso 6th-Grade Center readers!

We’re thrilled to use Beanstack this school year! Beanstack is a fun, easy-to-use platform that helps students track their reading, log pages, earn virtual badges, and participate in school-wide challenges.

Our goal this year is for every 6th grader to read at least 20 minutes a day. Building a daily reading habit is one of the best ways to support your student’s growth, and Beanstack makes it feel like a game!

How to get started:
At school or on their chromebook: Students can log in instantly through ClassLink on their Chromebooks. Look for the Beanstack app on ClassLink.
Click on the Log Reading Button to add your Book and minutes.
On a phone or tablet: Download the free Beanstack Tracker app, search for Owasso 6th Grade Center, and log in!

Encourage your reader to start logging their minutes today. Let’s hit that 20-minute daily goal together! There are already Library Reading Challenges and a District-Wide Challenge loaded on our page!

Our Native American Literature class had a special guest last week. Cherokee National Treasure Danny McCarter gave a fascinating blowgun presentation. He instructed students on blow dart construction using traditional techniques.
As you can see, our students loved it!

Here are a few pics from the last two days!
Great job to the Class of 2033 for showing up with big smiles and lots of resilience.

The first two days are focused on learning the new building, adjusting to the secondary schedule, navigating the cafeteria, and making new friends. We distributed chromebooks in record time this morning and conducted an outstanding fire drill with the city Fire Marshall this afternoon.

Your students did great and they are FUN! It’s going to be a great year!

We will have two Optional Parent Informational Meetings at 11:30 and 5:30 in the gym.
