SNOW Member Spotlight ๐๐ฝ
โAshley LeCompte just led one of the most impactful Stop the Bleed trainings Iโve seen,โ shared Amy Norton, Health Services Director at Yakima School District.
Nearly 60 staff members at Eisenhower High School recently completed Stop the Bleed training facilitated by Ashley in partnership with Yakima School District nurses. The session was highly organized, interactive, and hands-on, earning outstanding feedback and generating strong demand for additional trainings. Ashley now has 30 more sessions scheduled through the end of the year! Way to go Ashley!
This work highlights the essential role school nurses play, not only in supporting student health, but also in advancing critical health education for school staff and communities.
How are you supporting staff with life-saving health education in your district?

SNOW would like to take the time to highlight an incredible SNOW member and her vital role as a school nurse. Becky Droter is a rural school nurse at Colville School District, and was recently recognized in the Washington State Department of Health's Power of Providers Spotlight.
In the spotlight it states, "Due largely to access barriers, it is common for residents of rural communities to see medical providers only scarcely. A school nurse can be a primary healthcare source for many, making Becky and other school nurses invaluable to their communities."
Becky shares some of the important work she is doing in her own district, as well as the importance a school nurse plays in the lives of their students.
