We are excited to welcome all of our Vikings back to the building, TONIGHT for Back to School Night!

5:00 PM -
We will host a freshman/new student session in the auditorium, and a college credit options meeting in the cafeteria.

6:00 PM -
We will begin the open house portion of the evening, and students and families are welcome to walk the building, meet their teachers, and visit our supports and resources on the Bridge. We can help with Parent Square, Bound, Zum Busing, and more!

Students - for every teacher you visit, you'll earn a raffle ticket. Prizes offered tonight include the chance to win a yearbook, prom tickets, homecoming tickets, a reserved parking spot, concessions for a fall sporting event, and more!

The new teachers weren't the only ones working hard at West today! The SMWest Link Crew welcomed its 80 members to campus for a full workday in preparation for the arrival of our incoming 9th graders.

Class of 2030 - we can't wait to see you at Back to School Night this Thursday 8/6 and on your first day on Wednesday 8/12!!

The new year kicked off today with the arrival of our new staff members - the West area joined together this morning to welcome our new team members, and we are so excited for the talents they bring to our buildings. We are Building Tomorrow Together, the West Way!

The countdown is on for back-to-school!

All Viking students and their families are invited to attend our Back-to-School Night events on Thursday August 6th.

Come have some dinner, gather important information for the school year, and meet your teachers (all while earning the chance to win some great prizes!).

We will have support available for families needing help with Bound, Skyward, or Parent Square in addition to information about our new bus company - Zum.

Students and families can come and go as needed on this evening, and siblings are always welcome! We are excited to partner with our Viking families to start the year with a strong foundation.

The start of school is one month away!

As we prepare to re-open our offices and welcome back staff and students, be sure to mark your calendars for our annual back-to-school night.

We will have special programming for freshmen/new students as well as a chance for all students in grades 9-12 to come to the building, walk their schedules, meet their teachers, and more!

The West area leadership team congratulates the Class of 2026 on their graduation - you make us so proud and your future is bright!

It's time to celebrate the Class of 2026! Graduation is Wednesday May 20th at 7:00 PM in the Shawnee Mission South Stadium. No tickets are needed unless weather becomes an issue - graduates were issued tickets for an inclement weather circumstance during graduation practice last Friday.

In addition to graduation, it's a big sports week for baseball, softball, soccer, and swim & dive - come out and support these amazing athletes!

Parents/guardians - if you want your student to be able to leave as soon as their MacBook is turned in on Tuesday, please be sure you have completed the early release form sent to your email on file in Skyward.
