Our December has been one to remember! We have been busy little elves over the past few weeks! From learning about various Holiday Traditions celebrated, studying the Night Sky and light and shadows, to fine motor movement of snowballs and scooping and pouring in our themed sensory bins....we've immersed ourselves in our December investigative topics! We even enjoyed a fun Holiday Spirit week complete with pajama day, ugly sweaters, dressing as our favorite holiday, plaid day and our final day of dressing to impress! We are ecstatic over the donations we received from our families to help adopt little kiddos in the area through The Salvation Army Angel Tree! We loaded everything up and dropped them off! Thank you so much to our families for their generosity and helping other littles have a wonderful holiday!

Join us at Canterbury Prep for our Back To School Bash! Starting at 6pm, we will have the wonderful Mr. Stinky Feet here to entertain us with his fun interactive songs and dances! But what about dinner? Don't worry, we've got you covered...the Chick-fil-A food truck will be in our parking lot along with an Ice Cream truck to purchase your favorite eats and treats! This is open to anyone, so please bring a friend...or two! Don't forget to bring your lawn chairs or blanket to sit on too! We can't wait to see everyone!

Canterbury Prep offers a variety of extra curriculars, one in particular is our Kids Café! Each week, Chef Chelsey takes her little chefs under her seasoned wing and teaches them the basics while also creating delicious eats to enjoy and occasionally take home so their parents can enjoy too! This is a glimpse of yesterday's class and words from Chef Chelsey:

"Charcuterie Day! The kids were given their own ingredients to create flavorful masterpieces using their own imagination. The class was encouraged to use their own forms of expression through food placement and unique combinations! We used berries, sun butter, pretzels, turkey, veggie crackers, cucumbers, cheddar and provolone. After showing my example, they were all set to create their own!"

Our September Matrix focus is "All About Me!" We are discussing topics like Myself, My Family, My Friends, My School, My Community, The Four Seasons and The Weather! Our Europe class has been hard at work this week discussing My Family & My Community! On Monday, our friends made 3D houses using construction paper and while putting them together, they added in part of our mathematics curriculum and discussed halves and line of symmetry! On Tuesday, they discussed their neighborhood and what makes up a community. They then had them each draw their houses, connecting each house with sidewalks and streets to form their neighborhood. Ms. Dasia and Ms. Alison did a wonderful job incorporating various parts of our curriculum and the kiddos absolutely loved putting their pieces together to form their little community!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MS. CHRISTINA!!!! We are so lucky to have her! She executes great education in the classroom and is a wonderful support to our team and classrooms! She always delivers great quality work and is an inspiration to all educators!
