🎤 Speaker Spotlight: Madeleine McDonough

As we celebrate 75 years of KC CPCU I-Day, we're bringing you speakers who are shaping the future of our industry — and Madeleine McDonough is a standout addition to our Diamond Anniversary lineup.

Madeleine was re-elected to her second term as Chair of Shook, Hardy & Bacon in January 2022, and under her leadership the firm has expanded to eighteen offices nationwide and grown to about 600 lawyers — solidifying its place as a leader in trial and complex litigation. In her own practice, Madeleine advises organizations on everything from preventative litigation strategies and risk management to crisis management and corporate responsibility, and she has represented each of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Beyond her legal accomplishments, Madeleine is deeply committed to giving back — she's helped grow Shook's pro bono hours by more than 30% and has been honored as a Mentor of the Year for her dedication to advising younger colleagues and students. Her list of accolades speaks for itself: named an Eminent Practitioner in Product Liability & Mass Tort by Chambers USA, a Top 50 Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal, and Woman of the Year by Missouri Lawyers Weekly, among many others.

The Kansas City CPCU Chapter is excited to share that our charity partner for this year's I-Day is the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kansas City. This wonderful local organization serves nearly 6,000 kids and teens annually across 9 locations throughout the Kansas City area, delivering impactful programs that foster academic achievement, healthy lifestyles, and character development.
