Any of my video friends live in Italy? My wife and I may be visiting in October 2024!

Hi, international video friends! Yesterday, I made a post asking if any of you live in Europe. I will be more specific of why I ask. In the somewhat near future, I will be taking a 4-month sabbatical from my college, and my wife and I will be living in Europe during that time. (I know I can only live in the EU for 90 days...other time will have to spent in non-EU). I have spent time in Germany and the Netherlands and Italy. We may centralize our selves in south Germany. However, we are trying to create an itinerary where we visit 8-10 locations, staying in each one for a week or so. I do not want to be a stereotypical American who tries to visit 35 countries in 3 months...but we do want to visit 8-10 places and spend time in each. I will writing as well for my sabbatical project.

Countries we are considering...Britain (non-EU), France, Belgium, south Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia.

Where will we live? Our budget will not support staying in 5-star hotels. We actually prefer AirBNB or staying with locales who may have a room to rent (we like to get to know people). OR if any of you have any contacts at colleges or universities, sometimes they have affordable short-term housing for traveling professors. Please let me know if you have someone I can contact.

Any advice or help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Honestly, I have thought about constructing my route all along where my video watchers live, allowing you to each buy me that drink that you all promise me when you email me! But in reality, you are all scattered all over the globe!

I hope each and every one of you, regardless of your faith, have a blessed Christmas day with your families. The last year has been rough, but we all have so much to be thankful for!

I hope everyone is safe and healthy during this COVID crisis! I am at home teaching my students over the computer. I miss them and I miss being able to travel. When this virus situation is over, my wife and I will be ready to TRAVEL THE WORLD some more, so let me know who wants us to visit them and where you live. All we need is a couple of couches to sleep on! 😀😀😀
