Friends, I Need Your Help! đź’›
Over the last several months, what started as a small idea has grown into something incredibly meaningful. On May 30th, we’ll be hosting Women Veterans Engage at VFW Post 56 in Leavenworth.
This is a full-day experience created for women veterans and women currently serving in the military.
This event was built with intention.
Not just another meeting.
Not just another resource fair.
This is about connection, visibility, healing, growth, purpose, leadership, and reminding women who have served that they still belong in community with one another.
We’ll have speakers, professional development, wellness opportunities, networking, hands-on experiences, resources, and real conversations with women who understand the military experience firsthand.
Honestly, seeing the community come together around this has been one of the most encouraging things I’ve witnessed in a long time.
So today I’m asking for help from ALL parts of my life. My veteran friends, beauty clients, VFW family, fellow moms, business owners, antique lovers, pinup friends, church friends, local supporters… everybody.
Please help me share this.
Tag a woman veteran.
Invite someone who served.
Send it to a friend who may need this space more than she realizes.
We’re also hosting a relaxed “Meet & Mingle” evening the night before for anyone wanting to come in early, meet people, and start building connections before the main event. 💛

JCCC has been recognized by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education as a recipient of a 2026 Sustainability Award, honoring outstanding achievements in higher education sustainability. JCCC received the award for its innovative Sustainability Distinction Program.
“The customizable nature of the program—and its ability to be added to any degree path—has allowed nearly 70 students from a variety of academic backgrounds to participate since Spring 2025," said Dr. Rachael Rost-Allen, program advisor.
As the program continues to grow, the JCCC Center for Sustainability hopes to inspire even more students and serve as a model for other colleges and universities. Read more about the award and the Sustainability Distinction Program: https://ow.ly/LCFm50YKKji
