Go Chiefs from the After-School Program at The J and Vacation Day programs!

Happy Hanukkah!

It's Red Monday! KC Wolf was here this morning to talk with our Vacation Day kids from Blue Valley and HBHA. The kids had lots of questions for him! It was great to see him on a Game Day! Go Chiefs!

Gracie Hunt, Miss Kansas 2021 came to visit The J and stopped by the After-School Program. She talked about playing on sports teams and how she decided to enter the Miss Kansas contest. Our kids asked her lots of questions - her favorite sport (soccer), what kind of car she drives (jeep), her favorite color (blue) and more! One of our kids even asked for an autograph!

Yesterday we celebrated Tu B'Shevat (New Year of the Trees) by making seed knaidls. A seed knaidl is a ball made of clay, earth and seeds which is used to replant areas where the natural flora has been destroyed. Our kids will disperse their seed knaidls in Shawnee Mission Park!

Happy Noon Year's Eve! Our Vacation Day kids had a great time today at our Noon Year's Eve party!

Winter Break Vacation Days have been lots of fun! The kids have been busy with Ga Ga, playing games in the gym and the Turf field, learning how to play our new shuffleboard game, playing in the Club House, making crafts, doing science experiments and so much more!

Happy Hanukkah! Each afternoon during Hanukkah the After-School Program celebrates with lighting candles and saying prayers. Next week we will enjoy Latkes and Gelt! Happy Hanukkah to all of our Jewish friends!

It's Ga Ga in Studio 3!! The dancers have moved to their new dance studios, and now the After-School program has Studio 3 for active play! We set up the Ga Ga pit this afternoon, and the kids and staff really got a work-out playing Ga Ga! The After-School kids will also get a chance to play on the new Turf Field, and Vacation Day kids may get to play in the new Clubhouse! Come see all the NEW changes at The J! :)

We have been busy with several Vacation Days in the past two weeks. Parent/Teacher Conferences and Inservice Days give us days to play at The J. Lots of fun!
