J Camp KC

J Camp Week 9 was a busy week! Campers had fun with games, crafts, archery, sports and lots of swimming! Several Camps went on field trips. Barney Goodman went to Urban Air. It was Basketball Week for Sports Camp so their field trip was to College Basketball Experience. And BOOM! went to the KC Zoo. On Thursday, Theatre Camp performed "Frozen JR" for all of J Camp! Everyone loved the show! On Friday, we had fun at our Annual J Camp End of the Summer Carnival. And at Shabbat, we all celebrated the end of a great week and the end of a fun summer!

J Camp Theatre Camp rocked White Theatre last week, with their AWESOME performances of Disney's Frozen, JR! The Theatre Campers worked for 4 weeks on the lines, songs, blocking and characters! They performed two shows on Thursday - one for J Campers and an evening show for parents and families. The cast did a fantastic job! The singing, acting, costumes and set! Wow! The audiences LOVED the Show! Thanks to Director James and his team, Kalista, Breana and Christina! Enjoy these fun photos!

We are excited to announce that Stages is once again offering an Associate Program this summer. This program offers students (grades 6-12) a unique opportunity to delve into the behind-the-scenes magic of theatre, including hands-on training, practical experience, and mentorship in various aspects of directing, choreographing, stage managing, lighting, sound, set design, and costuming. This year, there are two Fall offerings for our Associates Program.

✨: Stages Associates: How To Train Your Dragon: The Musical, Jr. (Youth Edition) (Aug. 9 - Nov. 29)

At J Camp, on Fridays we celebrate the end of the week at Shabbat. We honor all of the Campers and their accomplishments. We have a few special awards.
Mensch of the Week Campers are chosen by their counselor. These are Campers who have done the most in their group to help others and do good things for the group. These campers get a wristband, certificate and sign the Mensch banner.
We also honor the Middah of the Week. Each week we choose one Jewish Value. One Camper and One Counselor are chosen each week that has best represented that Jewish Value that week.
In addition, Erik, the Archery Instructor chooses one Golden Arrow Camper each week - as the Camper who has improved the most that week in Archery.

J Camp Week 8 was another FUN week! Campers participated in Archery, STEM, Art, Kol Israel and everyone loved the swimming pool! Some days, the weather was a challenge, but we all had fun! Theatre Camp went to the White Theatre's show, Frozen, and got ideas for their show. Sports Camp learned more skills for Flag Football. Some of our Camps went on a field trip. Art Camp, Culinary Camp, STEM Camp and LEGO Camp learned some new skills. And we all gathered together on Friday afternoon to celebrate Shabbat. It was a great week!

J Camp Ma'asim Tovim Campers are those entering 7th and 8th grade. Each week they go to a variety of organizations and help others through Community Service.
