Pretty impressive news out of the chocolate industry! WOW!

Chocolate has gotten a lot more expensive in recent years, thanks in large part to a global cocoa shortage driven by climate change, unpredictable weather, crop diseases, and the unstable economics (and, frankly, stress) of growing one of the world’s favorite snacks.

Thankfully, researchers have identified four previously unknown genetic varieties of Peruvian cacao, a discovery that could help diversify cocoa production and ensure that chocolate has a future.

My apologies, we were tweaking the menu last week and I forgot to post the finalized menu! See you tomorrow at 3pm - 530pm in the WHCA building for our first sale of the semester! We're on the southeast corner of the JCCC campus. Park in front of the building and enter through the main doors, into the atrium. We'll be all set and ready to go!

Again, a quick reminder that moving forward the weekly bake sales will start Sept. 11th 3-530pm, YES>>>THAT IS A FRIDAY! Because of substantial changes on all our programs, we had to move the Pastry Baking Certificate Program back to a Thursday/Friday schedule. From Sept. 11th and into the far future, bake sales will move to Fridays. I'll have a Summer Production Menu ready to publish shortly. Be on the lookout for it! In the meantime, enjoy the new pastry/baking art that was hung in the bake shop for the new semester!
