I rarely post anything anymore but this is important to me! Tonight is my music studio’s piano recital. I couldn’t be happier with my little students and all the hard work they put into preparing for this event.

I read in my studies this week a quote from Mother Teresa that reflects how I feel about teaching and everything I get to do. - “It’s [God’s] work. I am like a … pencil in his hand. … He does the thinking. He does the writing. The pencil has nothing to do with it. The pencil has only to be allowed to be used.”

Again, another quilt will go home with a student in hopes that music will be a part of life for them as it is for me.

We all have been working hard at preparations for an amazing music program coming up this Friday! Most of the students will be playing video game theme songs as well as some surprises! I have to say that these recitals are truly a celebration of all the hard work done throughout the year!

The Singer's workshop for this summer is now full! I still have a few openings for summer only lessons. Please let me know if you are interested!

The second annual music quilt is underway! All of my students are practicing recital pieces for “tickets”. One lucky student will be the winner taking this beauty home! I will be quilting this and finishing it up soon!

Summer camp plans have changed! I've decided to pivot and go for a less intensive camp plan. Drumroll please . . . . "The Sheet Music Heist" summer camp will run with a group session scheduled May 28 and May 30 or another group session on May 29 and May 31st. Each day, camp is scheduled for 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Total cost is $160 per person. For ages 7 - 12 years.
What is "The Sheet Music Heist" camp about? Dissonance has been up to no good. He has caused chaos in the sheet music world, causing the notes to crash into each other. He must be stopped before music as we know it is completely destroyed! Luckily the Superhero Apprentices are ready to help! Each challenge will test their abilities and bring them closer to saving music! With no time to waste… It is time to defeat dissonance!
In the Sheet Music Heist, each mission activity will bring campers closer to saving music as we know it! The activities go along with developing musical superpowers through games, challenges, and some comic book composing!

I am now a Qualified Education Provider for Kansas KEEP program! KEEP stands for Kansas Educational Enrichment Program. This gives grants to eligible families to pay for music lessons, educational pursuits and more! I'm looking forward to the opportunities this program provides to families.
