I rarely post anything anymore but this is important to me! Tonight is my music studio’s piano recital. I couldn’t be happier with my little students and all the hard work they put into preparing for this event.

I read in my studies this week a quote from Mother Teresa that reflects how I feel about teaching and everything I get to do. - “It’s [God’s] work. I am like a … pencil in his hand. … He does the thinking. He does the writing. The pencil has nothing to do with it. The pencil has only to be allowed to be used.”

Again, another quilt will go home with a student in hopes that music will be a part of life for them as it is for me.

If you want to watch our program, it will be recorded live on Facebook. You will need to watch it at “Kansas City Piano” page (search for the page) and replay will be up for viewing for a week.

Summer camp plans have changed! I've decided to pivot and go for a less intensive camp plan. Drumroll please . . . . "The Sheet Music Heist" summer camp will run with a group session scheduled May 28 and May 30 or another group session on May 29 and May 31st. Each day, camp is scheduled for 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Total cost is $160 per person. For ages 7 - 12 years.
What is "The Sheet Music Heist" camp about? Dissonance has been up to no good. He has caused chaos in the sheet music world, causing the notes to crash into each other. He must be stopped before music as we know it is completely destroyed! Luckily the Superhero Apprentices are ready to help! Each challenge will test their abilities and bring them closer to saving music! With no time to waste… It is time to defeat dissonance!
In the Sheet Music Heist, each mission activity will bring campers closer to saving music as we know it! The activities go along with developing musical superpowers through games, challenges, and some comic book composing!

It’s been a hot minute since the last post on this page. The studio is alive and thriving! Here’s a little update. We kicked off the school year with a “Fall Kickoff“ in August. The kids had a blast with being a human spinner. This looks like someone sitting on an office chair and being spun to see who goes next! October brought a sweet performance to the lunch crowd at DelMar Gardens of Lenexa residents and staff. December ushered in a crowd pleasing Christmas camp featuring Santa being captured by Jack Frost! We wrapped up the season with providing some festive music as a dinner background to the residents of Silvercrest at College View Senior Living. January brought a mid year check in group session with some goal setting and wish lists of songs to learn.
