Blue Valley School District Human Resources
We are committed to helping our students achieve unprecedented academic success & unparalleled personal growth.
The heart of that mission begins with our exemplary employees. Our goal is to provide positive work environments for dedicated employees. Please view our social media comment policy at www.bluevalleyk12.org/about/dept/communications/social-media.
07/02/2026
Beginning July 1, 2026, Kansas House Bill 2299 requires school districts to limit social media to one-way communication with students. The same legislation also established Kansas' new student cell phone requirements.
Because district employees may not engage with students through social media, and because it is not always possible to determine whether an account belongs to a current student, official district and school/building social media accounts will no longer respond to direct messages or comment-based conversations.
Please continue to contact the district or your school/building through the email addresses and phone numbers listed on our website if you need assistance.

What began as a Blue Valley student inspired by the teachers who shaped his education has grown into a career dedicated to serving the same community. From AVID tutor and substitute teacher to classroom educator and now assistant principal, Chris Huggardโs journey has come full circle as he helps prepare for the opening of Wolf Springs Middle next school year. ๐๐พ
โGrowing up, I had lived all over the country and attended so many different school systems, large and small. Blue Valley has always been different in the level of care and concern that I felt I received from day one. The teachers in Blue Valley were my mentors that inspired me to become a teacher in the first place,โ said Huggard.
Chris, a graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School, returned to the district that shaped his love for education and has embraced opportunities to grow throughout his career. From teaching English Language Arts at Aubry Bend Middle and supporting students through activities and athletics to serving in leadership roles, he has built meaningful relationships while helping others succeed. Each experience has helped prepare him for this next chapter. ๐ฑ๐ซ
"[Wolf Springs Middle principal Courtney Domoney and I] have been very purposeful in our hiring practices, meetings with community members and in connecting with student committees to say and emphasize that we want this to be a place that everyone wants to be," said Huggard.
Chris, thank you for your exceptional commitment to supporting students, building community and inspiring others and for choosing the Blue Valley School District as your place to shape the next generation. โจ๐
