Today our school honored Ruby Bridges by walking to school as a community. Her courage as a six-year-old integrating an all-white school continues to inspire us.
The walk sparked important conversations with our children about bravery, kindness, and inclusion. Thank you, Ruby, for lighting the path for future generations.

🥫 Lakewood is hosting the L3 (Love Literacy Life) Food Drive November 17-21, to provide snack bags for students over winter break at three local elementary schools. Please bring in fruit cups to donate next week!

🍬 Candy Collection Totals Are In! 🍬
A huge thank-you to all our students and families for participating in this year’s Candy Collection! Together, LKE collected over 349 pounds of candy! These sweet treats are on their way to deployed troops with the help of Smiles Dentistry and Operation Gratitude.
Here’s how each grade did:
Kindergarten: 60 lbs.
1st Grade: 51.6 lbs.
2nd Grade: 62.8 lbs.
3rd Grade: 56.8 lbs.
4th Grade: 61.2 lbs.
5th Grade: 56.6 lbs.
👏 Congratulations to 2nd Grade for collecting the most candy this year! Smiles Dentistry will be delivering a special prize pack to our winners. Every class did an amazing job—thank you for making this community effort such a sweet success! 🍭
