At Knox Classical, we combine the benefits of traditional on-campus schooling with the blessings of home education.

Through our hybrid schedule, students spend a few days on campus learning alongside their classmates and then, with the guidance and support of our teachers, continue that learning at home within their families.

This is the collaborative pillar of Knox Classical School - a rhythm that allows for both the richness of community in a classroom setting and slower days spent together as a family.

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most significant decisions you will make as a parent. We understand that the process can feel both exciting and overwhelming as you prayerfully consider the educational setting in which your child will learn and grow.

At Knox Classical, we believe that successful school partnerships require shared values and a common vision for education. Our goal is not merely to guide families through the steps of our admissions process but to help them prayerfully discern whether partnering with Knox Classical is the right fit for their child and family.

At Knox Classical School, four pillars shape who we are and how we approach the work of education: Christ-Centered, Classical, Collaborative, and Covenantal.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be taking a closer look at each one - what it means, why it matters, and how it comes to life in the everyday rhythms of our school. And there is no better place to begin than with Christ-Centered.

At Knox Classical, we believe that all truth is God’s truth and that every subject, every relationship, and every idea is an opportunity to know Him more fully. From the books we read and the questions we ask to the way we practice kindness, pursue excellence, extend grace, and wonder at creation, we desire to point our students toward Christ.

This week, as our students continued their studies of the Lewis and Clark expedition and the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution, a handful of our second grade families had the opportunity to step beyond the pages of their books and encounter the story of westward expansion firsthand. At the Steamboat Arabia Museum, students wondered at the tools, goods, inventions, and everyday objects that tell the story of a rapidly changing America.

One of the greatest gifts of collaborative education is the space it creates for learning like this. School days provide the foundation, while home days give families the freedom to follow curiosity, make connections, explore our city, and experience rich learning together.

Our faculty and staff do far more than teach lessons, lead classrooms, and support the rhythms of our school. Together, they cultivate a place where students are known and loved, where wonder is encouraged, virtue is nurtured, and young hearts and minds are continually pointed toward Christ.

Familiar faces in the classroom this year include: Mrs. Sarah Sanders (Primer), Mrs. Cyretha Horton (First Grade), Mrs. Michelle Phillips (Third Grade), Mrs. Tiffany Vadnais (Fourth and Fifth), Mrs. Shannon Calloway (Fourth and Fifth), Mrs. Krystal Strong (Visual Arts), Mrs. Kaitlin McFadden (Music), Mrs. Madison Luffman (Aide), and Mrs. Abby Hoffhines (Aide). These returning faculty members provide invaluable continuity and experience for students and parents alike.

We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Amy King (Primer), Mrs. Julie Nicholas (Second Grade), and Mrs. Bethany Crook (Aide) this year and are humbled by the ways they have already enriched our community.

Mrs. Katie Montoya (Head of School) and Mrs. Susan Phillips (Operations Direction) continue to lead our school in the directional vision and day to day operations, respectfully. They are joined by Mrs. Shannon Calloway (Primer and Grammar School Director) and Mrs. Katie Mulder (Admissions and Marketing Coordinator), both familiar faces at Knox Classical, now stepping into new administrative roles to support the growth of our school.

We are profoundly grateful for those God has called to teach and lead at Knox Classical and celebrate both the new and returning members of our team.

Each year, we are increasingly humbled at the way Knox Classical continues to grow a rich community of families learning, worshiping, and walking together. Swipe to see some of the growth we are celebrating in our third year as a school.

We are deeply thankful for every student the Lord has entrusted to our care, every faculty member who pours faithfully into this work, and the many church families represented within our Knox community.

These numbers tell a story of growth, but even more, they tell a story of God’s faithfulness. To God be the glory for what He has done, and for all that is still to come.

Last week we gathered for one of our most cherished traditions at Knox Classical School, our annual Parent Bootcamp and Family Picnic. This is a time for our community to gather in fellowship, prayer, celebration, and training for the year ahead. Together we prepared for the rhythms of collaborative learning, united by a shared faith and a shared vision for the formation of our children. This morning, we welcomed friends and families for our second annual Spring Symposium & Grandparents Day.

Students showcased the fruit of their diligence - sharing memory work, reciting poetry, singing hymns, and displaying their finest artwork. As we pause to celebrate their accomplishments, we are also reminded of the gift of a truly collaborative education.

Our sanctuary and classrooms were full to the brim with a community of support - parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and dear friends, whose encouragement makes this endeavor not only possible, but joyful. We are grateful to our extended Knox Classical School community for sharing with us in celebrating all the Lord has done in and through our students this year!

When in the course of scholastic events, it became both fitting and joyful for a community to lay aside their books for a day, and take up the noble pursuits of friendly competition, fellowship, and cheer - we gathered for our annual Field Day!

We hold these truths to be evident: that perseverance is honorable, that teamwork is worthy, and that victory is sweetest when earned with humility and grace. With races well run and games heartily contested, our students displayed not only strength of body, but excellence of character.

In this, we witnessed something greater than sport…a tradition upheld, a community strengthened, and camaraderie forged anew.
