We are so proud to celebrate three former Theatre of the Imagination students have been cast in Starlight’s professional production of Disney’s *Newsies*! 🗞️🌟

All three took classes with us when they were younger, and it is incredibly exciting to see how much they have grown as performers.

Out of hundreds of talented students who auditioned, only 33 Kansas City-area teens were selected. They will perform alongside professional actors on the Starlight stage!

Watching young performers discover theater in our classes is always special. Seeing them continue developing their talents and earn opportunities like this years later makes us enormously proud.

Congratulations! We cannot wait to see you seize the day at Starlight! 🎭💙

Every great drama camp story is really a story about connection. 💙

One of our favorite parts of camp is watching the friendships that grow between our campers and Assistant Directors.

This week, Lawrence and Sky became quite the team! Lawrence brought his big energy, imagination and personality—and Sky jumped right into the fun alongside him. Whether they were rehearsing, laughing or sharing one of those wonderfully silly camp moments, these two clearly understood each other.

Sometimes the magic of drama camp happens onstage. And sometimes it happens when a camper finds someone who truly gets them.

🎭 ASSISTANT DIRECTORS WANTED! 🎭

We’re looking for current 8th and 9th graders who would enjoy helping teach drama to younger kids in our fall after-school classes!

Assistant Directors help our younger students learn lines, create characters, play theatre games and prepare for their final performance. It’s a fun way to develop leadership skills, share your love of theatre and make a real difference for younger performers!

🎄🎭 KCRep is casting kids for its 2026 production of A Christmas Carol! 🎭🎄

They are seeking strong singers and performers ages 10–17. Special consideration may also be given to children ages 8–10 for Tiny Tim.

💰 Each youth cast member receives a $500 stipend!

Two actors will share each role, with each performer appearing in approximately half of the performances.

👵👴🎉 OLD PEOPLE PARTY AT DRAMA CAMP! 🎉👴👵

Our campers dressed up like grandparents and showed everyone how to party—old-school style!

They danced, started a conga line and had a great time…until someone shouted, “OW! I HURT MY BACK!” 😂

Apparently, the music was loud, the energy was high and early-bird dinner had to wait!

Just another hilarious Spirit Day at Theatre of the Imagination, where our campers love creating characters, being silly and putting their acting skills to work!
