New video created for a new class, ELTE 223 Electrical Certification Review, that is part of our Electrical Technology certificate program. Once students have graduated and work in the field for a few years, they will want/need to take the Master Electrical Licensing exam. This video tells students how to apply for a license once they have passed the exam. Thank you to James Byrnes, Assistant Professor.

Three of our faculty members received Service Awards during Spring 2019 Professional Development Days. Mioshi Neal-Stovall received her 15 year pin, Dell Thomas and Hanan Fouad each received a 5 year pin. Mioshi and Dell are both NARS welding instructors and Hanan teaches in our Electronics Technology department. Congratulations!

Meet our faculty: Hanan Fouad is an adjunct instructor of Electronics Technology who began teaching at JCCC in the Spring of 2014. She teaches a variety of courses from Introduction to Electronics to AC and DC Circuits and Semiconductor Devices. Hanan enjoys the moments when she sees "the light bulb turn on" as a student begins to understand a concept.

Hanan received her BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in Dallas and then began working at Lucent Technologies as a hardware designer where she was awarded a US patent for one of her circuit designs. Later, she worked in software design for LSI Logic.

Due to her husband's medical training, she and her family moved around a lot until they eventually settled in the Kansas City area. Hanan was born in Cairo, Egypt and has lived in Saudi Arabia, as well as Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, New Jersey, and of course Kansas.

When I asked Hanan to tell us something about her we may not know I learned that she is fluent in both Arabic and English, she has visited 5 or the 7 continents, and she played two seasons with the Johnson County Women's Soccer League.

We want to welcome two new adjunct instructors to our division for Fall 2018: Bryan Cranston will be teaching in our ELTE department and Greg Retter in AET. So happy to have them on board.
