IHCC Educational Talent Search

We help middle school and high school students gain the knowledge and skills needed to graduate from high school and enroll in college.

Our students were able to participate in a college exploration event trip at Indian Hills Community College Main Campus to watch the college students perform the musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. At the end of the performance the students were able to participate in asking questions and meeting all of the cast members. The cast members talked about what they were majoring in at IHCC and what their future plans were. The students then ate lunch with other schools that attended the play and had a chance to interact with the crew members of the play.

Cardinal High School TRIO ETS students had the opportunity to go on a college visit to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where they received admissions information & a campus tour. 🌪️

Ottumwa Juniors & Cardinal Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to participate in an ACT Bootcamp workshop where they received information on:
-Pacing and time management ⏰
-Test-taking and guessing strategies 🧠
-Tips for the most important question types 📝

Cardinal & Liberty MS students participated in a fun Holiday activity to help them better understand teamwork, communication & problem solving. These skills improve success in school, future careers, and life in general. The activity they participated in is hands-on, fun, and opens up great conversations & laughter.

Students from Cardinal and Ottumwa ETS students enjoyed visiting Indian Hills Community College to watch the college students perform the play, Harvey. At the end of the play the students were able to ask questions and meet all of the cast & crew members. The college students talked about what they were majoring in at IHCC and what their future plans were. The students then ate lunch with other schools that attended the play and had a chance to interact with the cast & crew members of the play.

Cardinal high school students helped out at the Eldon Volunteer Fire Department by organizing and cleaning essential equipment. Through these hands-on tasks, students show local organizations support, broadens their understanding of such organizations and the need to help out in their communities.

The ETS students from Ottumwa High School made a difference today at Heartland Humane Society — from dog walks to cat cuddles, they brought smiles to every furry friend they met. 🐾

Liberty 6th & 7th grade students participated in a college visit to IHCC Main campus to tour part of the college, experience some college life & interact with college students that are participating in extracurricular programs at IHCC. With exposure to different programs that colleges have to offer we hope that the students will be able to make informed choices about their future education plans.

Our 10th-12th grade ETS-TRIO students from Ottumwa High School took an exciting step toward their futures yesterday with a college visit to Grand View University!

From exploring campus life to learning more about academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and college expectations, our students gained valuable insight and inspiration. Thank you to Grand View University for hosting us!

Educational Talent Search students from Evans Junior High had a great time at Central College! They we able to talk with admissions and get a college overview as well as getting an opportunity to walk through a tour of the whole campus. Thank you Central for having our students!
