Our only grad taking the boards today made sure we kept that streak going!

Way to go, Bailey McCuddin, RT(R)! ❤️

I already shared Bailey’s Student Spotlight, but today we get to officially add those well-earned letters behind her name!

Added bonus - her very first day of Rad Tech school picture. 🥹 Look at that first-day student who had no idea just how much she was going to learn, grow, and accomplish over the next two years.

From the first day of the program to Bailey McCuddin, RT(R) — you did it!

17/17. ❤️☢️
Couldn’t be prouder of this group!

16/16. ❤️☢️

Sixteen have taken their ARRT boards, and sixteen are officially RT(R)s!

I’m running out of ways to say how proud I am of this group—but I’m certainly not getting tired of saying it.

16 down. Keep going strong. 👏❤️

🎓 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: SHYANNE HERNANDEZ, RT(R) GRADUATE! 🎓

Another one of our newest registered technologists to celebrate! ❤️☢️

📍 Hometown: Kenosha, WI

Shyanne’s path to Radiologic Technology started with a strong interest in healthcare, but it took some time to find the right fit. During her senior year of high school, her anatomy teacher brought in X-ray films for the class to view during their bone unit. She really enjoyed studying the images and seeing how they represented anatomy, which sparked her curiosity about radiologic technology. The more she learned about the field, the more she realized it was exactly what she wanted to pursue.

Choosing Indian Hills came down to both opportunity and growth—Shyanne was drawn to the program’s affordability and the chance to step outside her comfort zone by moving to another state and living independently.

🏥 Clinical Sites:
• Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield, Iowa
• Pella Regional Health Center in Pella, Iowa
• Monroe County Hospital & Clinics in Albia, Iowa
• Mahaska Health in Oskaloosa, Iowa

🩻 Favorite Exam/Modality:
Working with the C-arm in the OR during surgery. Shyanne loves being part of a fast-paced surgical environment and seeing real-time X-ray imaging guide physicians during procedures. It’s a completely different experience from routine imaging and quickly became one of her favorite parts of clinicals.

❤️ Favorite Part of the Program:
Meeting new people and building skills and experiences that she knows will stay with her throughout her career and life.

😎 Fun Fact: Shyanne loves traveling and picking up new hobbies—especially when she gets to share those experiences with the people closest to her!

What’s next?
Shyanne will be starting her new job soon and moving into her first apartment this upcoming month. She’s excited for this next chapter of growing in independence, continuing to develop her career, and making time for travel and new memories along the way.

Shyanne, your journey from discovering X-rays in an anatomy class to becoming Shyanne Hernandez, RT(R) is such a great reminder of how powerful curiosity can be. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all that you accomplish next! ❤️☢️

Congratulations on this incredible achievement! We are so proud to call you one of our own!

Ariel found Radiologic Technology while researching different careers in the medical field. X-ray sounded interesting, she decided to give it a try—and thankfully, it turned out to be a pretty good decision! 😊

Choosing Indian Hills was almost a family tradition. Ariel’s mom and both of her sisters attended IHCC and had nothing but good things to say about their experiences here.

And Ariel has some pretty good advice for the students coming behind her: Give yourself some grace. The program can be tough, but the people you meet, the experiences you have, and everything you gain along the way make it worth it.

Ariel, you took a chance on X-ray because it “sounded interesting,” and two years later, you’re Ariel Ramirez, RT(R) with a career waiting for you. I’d say that chance paid off pretty well. ❤️☢️

Congratulations, Ariel! We are so proud to officially call you one of our own!

What’s next?
Ellerie has accepted a full-time position at Monroe County Hospital, so one of our clinical sites is gaining one of our own!

There’s something pretty special about watching a student walk into a clinical site to learn and eventually walk back in as a registered technologist. Ellerie VanTrump, RT(R) — you’ve made that transition, and you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve accomplished. ❤️

Congratulations, Ellerie! Now the real fun begins. ☢️

Another one officially joining the RT(R) club! ❤️☢️

📍 Hometown: Muscatine, IA

Layla always knew healthcare was where she wanted to be, but having an aunt who is a radiologic technologist helped point her toward X-ray. After job shadowing her in high school, she knew she had found the career for her.

She chose Indian Hills specifically for our Radiologic Technology program—and there was already a family connection! Her aunt Kayla had Amanda as her clinical instructor and had great things to say about the faculty and program. Indian Hills also gave Layla the opportunity to finish her general education courses while completing the program.

🏥 Clinical Sites:

The clinical experiences, friendships, and all of the amazing people she met along the way who made an impact on her life.

What’s next?
Layla is headed to UnityPoint Health – Trinity in the Quad Cities, where she’ll jump right into both X-ray and CT. And knowing she already has her eye on Radiation Therapy, I have a feeling she’s just getting started!

From job shadowing her aunt in high school to now becoming a technologist herself—I’d say she picked the right path. ❤️☢️ Congratulations, Layla Streeter, RT(R)! Go enjoy that first summer as a registered tech…and hopefully sneak in a little boating, too! 🚤

🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT — Pauline Estera, RT(R)! 🌟

And there she is — the last of today’s 11 for 11! 🎉☢️ What a way to finish an incredible day!

Pauline is originally from the Philippines and now calls Cameron, Missouri home. She chose Radiologic Technology after learning about the profession from people already working in the field. The combination of job stability, competitive salary, continuous learning, and most importantly, the opportunity to make a difference in patients’ lives made radiology the right fit.

Her connection to Indian Hills actually started in high school when she took college classes through IHCC. That experience changed the way she looked at learning. She found herself genuinely interested in the material, understanding it, and retaining it. She also appreciated instructors who were invested in their students and made difficult material easier to understand.

🏥 Clinical Sites:
• Ottumwa Regional Health Center
• Mahaska Health
• Pella Regional Health Center
• Iowa Ortho — Pella

🩻 Favorite Exam: Headwork! Pauline loves seeing how those images turn out after the exposure.

🛹 Fun Fact:
She loves to skateboard and has somehow managed to never break a bone. As a radiologic technologist, Pauline, we’d like to keep it that way. 😂

❤️ Favorite Part of the Program:
Gaining the experience she needed to become a radiologic technologist and being able to look back and see just how much she has grown along the way.

✈️ What’s Next?
Pauline is headed back to the Philippines for a month-long vacation to celebrate, decompress, and enjoy a very well-earned break! When she returns, she’ll begin working full-time at Cameron Regional Medical Center in Missouri as a radiologic technologist while also training in CT.

💬 Her advice to future students might be some of the best yet:
“Don’t borrow worry. Focus on what you need to do and get it done!”❤️

From high school classes at Indian Hills to earning those RT(R) credentials — you did exactly that. You put in the work, kept moving forward, and got it done.

Congratulations, Pauline Estera, RT(R)! We’re very proud of you. Now go enjoy the Philippines — you’ve earned every minute of that vacation! ❤️🎓☢️

And with that… 11 took the boards. 11 passed the boards. 11 new RT(R)s.
That is one great day to be proud of. ❤️
