As a final recap on 2025 ILC. I had the pleasure of being the advisor to all of this years participants and I could not be more proud of each of them.
Cera and Taytum (KCCA) both accomplished amazing things. Taytum’s confidence has grown so incredibly much during this process. I am so excited to hear about all of her future successes and adventures as an RT, and that extra $1,000 scholarship she earned will definitely come in handy! 🫁
Cera is the first personon in KCCA history to place top 10 and walk the stage at HOSA ILC! She is also the first person I have ever had place at ILC. I know Cera is going to have an amazing life and do some cool things, and I’m so happy to have played a small role in getting her there 🥹
Chelsey and Emma (IHCC post secondary) had the opportunity to compete in a few events. Chelsey had such a great experience at ILC and has already been talking about next year! I’m confident she’ll be on that stage next.
Emma had such a great outcome being the second student I’ve ever had on stage (by about 15 minutes) Even though there were only 4 IHCC students in the very back of the crowd of thousands, they cheered so loudly I could hear them from up by the stage! To say we were all excited is an understatement.
I am so excited to watch HOSA continue to grow, and I’m blessed to be a part of it ♥️💛

Saturday we had a bit of time to do some exploring in Nashville. We checked out the Farmers Market, which was really pretty cool! We then walked down Broadway and got to see all of the famous places and hear some great music as we walked along. We had lunch at the Food Hall and looked around all of the stores and shops. It was a very, very hot and humid day and we were very thankful for the Uber rides 🤣

Friday Recap:
Students finished up competitions today! Now we are anxiously awaiting awards Saturday evening.
We explored the expo one last time where Taytum had the chance to play around with some simulations. She’s now a pro at intubation and at labor and delivery 😉
We had reservations to eat at Nashville Aquarium Restaurant. It was really neat and felt like we were inside an aquarium 🐠
Tomorrow is the last day of the 2025 ILC. I think the students have all had a lot of fun, but I think they’re ready to get home. We’re planning to visit downtown for a while before going to awards and closing session. It’s going to be a hot one tomorrow with a real feel temperature of 106° 🥵

We found out some of the round 1 results and Cera Hahn will advance to round 2 for Home Health Aide and Emma Strayer advances for Phlebotomy!

We were able to get over to the Opry Mills mall for lunch. We discovered they have a Lindt chocolate shop and things may have gotten out of hand. 😂

Taytum Bell was invited to attend a very special scholarship dinner where she was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the American Association for Respiratory Care. We are so proud of her and this amazing opportunity!
We attended opening ceremonies with 14,320 of our new friends. 😳 It really is quite a huge event.
We’ll be back at it again tomorrow with more competitions, workshops, and networking!
