October 10th is World Mental Heath Day!!
Take a chance to spread positivity, understanding, compassion, and kindness towards ourselves and others!

Not Self-Care, just Take Care....
- 📖Read your bible or a book.
-🫁 Sit in silence any way you can for a good 3 or 5 minutes; taking deep breaths but without your to-do list on your mind. I recommend it in the shower.
- 💪🏾Stretch all your being. (Physical health is just as important. They work together.)
- 💃🏾🕺Dance because why not..
- 👟🌞Stay active, or take the well needed break. Either way, soak up the sun when you get the chance.
- ☺️Rush out of those work clothes and put something comfy on. (Now would be an awesome time to enjoy your kids/furbabies/partner. Watch a movie you haven't seen in a long time.)
- 📞📨Check in with your family and friends
- 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️Visit, or find a therapist. (You'd be surprised how healing forgiveness can be.)
- 🥗🍨Eat healthy.. or GET! THE ICE CREAM CONE... I'm just saying.
-🙏🏾😊📝 Or like me-- Map out your future without the setbacks or worries. It's just for fun. Could be a year, 5 years, 10 years from now. Or start a Gratitude Journal by being grateful for the present.
- 👩🏻‍🦰🧑‍🦰👩🏼👨🏼👩🏾👨🏾Parents; encourage your children to check in and encourage them to be open with you. Get them someone trusting and professional to speak to if you dont know how....

Lastly,
- 💧DRINK WATER. Stay hydrated.

- 🛌😴Take the nap. Get some REST!

🧠Your brain will thank you for just those two if you can't fit in anything else.

Busy busy Monday!
🐝We inspected and squished the pumpkin guts and seeds today. We learned that this is what the inside of our white pumpkin looks like. The white pumpkins will be colored with washable markers in our art center. (EVERYONE WILL GET TO TAKE A BAG HOME TODAY! In the fridge, they will last 3-5 days. In the freezer is best, use your best judgement for time. Unless you want a mess, I encourage against opening. And always wash hands after play.)

🐝We also recognized and honored Indigenous People's Day with a coloring page. We will learn more about Native American Heritage next month. This made a great intro to explore our knowledge.

🐝We ALSO welcome our new bee today!! He had an awesome day hanging out with our crazy "beeselves!"

Today we learned more about the Hispanic culture and hertiage.

We learned more about tomatoes, our food of the month at the Hive.
•We learned that tomatoes are a key ingredient to making Salsa. 😋

•We, also, learned that Salsa is not only a great solution for tortilla chips. It's A Dance Too!!! During After-School Movement and Music, we had ourselves a warm up Salsa Dance Party. 💃🏾🕺

•Then we learned about a pretty amazing instrument from our Cuban friends.
🪇Maracas/Egg Shakers🪇
-Two plastic spoons
-Easter Egg (The small eggs were surprisingly a great size for my 1 year olds AND 6/7 year olds.)
-Masking tape (With my experimental one I used washi tape and it didn't seal and hold like I wanted it too.) This will go all around the stick.
-Markers, paint, crayons feathers, anything to have your littles decorate and make it their own.
-(Optional) Some kind of super glue for extra security to seal the egg. I used dollar trees, then started my tape by using one strip around that seal for EXTRA.
-Popcorn Kernels (You can use dry beans or rice. I feel kernels give a unique, exciting sound. Video fun in the comments.)
-(Also, optional but preferred by me.) Mod Podge; to seal their art and so it doesnt bleed on to their hands all messy from markers.

This time I wrapped the tape around the whole set and they got to color it. Next week they will use their own motor skills with the tape and holding of the spoons/egg. The next couple weeks I plan to keep some of these items for then to explore new ways to make maracas... Love that.....

•We finished our quick fun before pick up by using the homemade Maracas and the toy Maracas and had our dance party. The littles and I kept dancing, while the school agers individualized their Maracas.

My in home childcare will be utilizing Poppin Popcorn through Little Lambs Fundraising to save up for a transportation Van and a fence for safety measures. Safety is important to run the type of sucessful in home daycare I desire. Future field trips and helping famies with school transportation, as well.
