Step by Step Child Care Center, Inc. - Ottawa Locations A fun-filled, learning rich environment, where all children can learn and grow. Accepting children 6 Step by Step joined the community of Ottawa in 2006.

We started on the north side, at 1420 Aquarius Circle. Our enrollment grew, so we opened another location on the south side, at 110 W. McKinley Road in 2012. Both of our Ottawa locations are NAC accredited centers. Between the two centers, our capacity is 137. We have capacity for 20 school age children at our McKinley Road location only.

We had a sweet time celebrating the Week of the Young Child with a special ice cream sundae treat! 🍨✨ Our toddlers loved creating their own sundaes and enjoying every delicious bite.

So many smiles, giggles, and sticky fingers—it was the perfect way to end a fun-filled week of learning and play! 💛

We wrapped up the Week of the Young Child with a fun and fizzy classroom experiment! 🧪✨ Our little learners created baking soda hearts and then added vinegar to watch them bubble and fizz with excitement. ❤️💥

So much laughter, curiosity, and hands-on learning as we explored simple science together. These moments spark creativity and a love for discovery! 🔍💡

Our School Age classroom had a fantastic time taking learning outdoors as they flew their brand-new kites! These colorful kites were purchased with funds raised through our recent fundraiser—thank you to everyone who helped make this possible! 💙

Students enjoyed watching their kites soar while building teamwork, coordination, and lots of joyful memories together.

🎉 Week of the Young Child Celebration 🎉

Our Pre-K South friends had an amazing week full of creativity, collaboration, and fun! 🥁✨

They put their imaginations to work by making their very own drums, built a Pre-K community of homes complete with front lawns, and showed off their unique style by designing custom t-shirts! 👕🎨

We are so proud of their creativity, kindness, and enthusiasm for learning. What a fantastic way to celebrate the joy of early childhood! 💛

Today in the Toddler room at South, we had a fun-filled day celebrating Artsy Thursday and Tasty Tuesday! 🎨✨

Our little learners explored their creativity by making sensory bottles, strengthening their fine motor skills as they poured, filled, and experimented with different materials. This hands-on activity also supported sensory development and encouraged curiosity as they watched colors and textures move and change.

For Tasty Tuesday/Thursday, the toddlers worked together to make “people puppy chow.” They practiced teamwork and early math skills as they helped mix ingredients, then built independence by shaking their own individual baggies filled with chocolate-covered cereal and powdered sugar. This activity supported coordination, following directions, and cooperative play.

We love seeing our toddlers learn through play, creativity, and collaboration every day! 💛
