Congratulations to 358th Basic Training Class President Officer Cody Presley of the WaKeeney Police Department.
Officer Presley was born and raised in Hill City, KS. He graduated from Hill City Junior Senior High School in 2022. After High School Officer Presley played football at Ottawa University. He graduated this May with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He is now engaged and will be getting married this July.
Law enforcement became a calling for Officer Presley when he served in the Franklin County jail for 3 years while attending college. Law enforcement is not a new thing for Officer Presley. His father served as the Graham County Sheriff for 20+ years and is now a trooper for the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Officer Presley has felt called to serve others and it is something that has been instilled in him from a very young age. With his father, as well as his mother who is currently a registered nurse for the Graham County Hospital and has been for 20+ years. Officer Presley’s fiancé will also be giving back to their new community by working as a 3rd grade teacher at Trego County High School in WaKeeney, KS.
As Officer Presley begins steps into his new career, he is excited to serve and protect his community, and put to work the morals, values, and lessons that he’s been taught since day one.
