Ottawa High School KS - Wall of Honor The Official page of the Ottawa High School Wall of Honor (KS.) The Ottawa High School Wall of Honor was created in the Spring of 1997. Mr.

Induction into the Wall of Honor is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an Ottawa High School Graduate. The program began as an outgrowth of the OHS Renaissance Program created by OHS math teacher, Gary K***z. K***z presented the proposal for the Wall of Honor to the Ottawa High School principal, district superintendent, OHS Student Council, and the USD 290 Board of Education. With approval from these groups, the Wall of Honor became the highest honor that Ottawa High School can bestow upon a graduate. Nominations for the OHS Wall of Honor are accepted during the spring of each year with the only formal requirement being a nominee must have graduated for OHS at least ten (10) years prior to nomination. Nominations stay active for two years. A committee of students, OHS alumni, and OHS faculty selects up to three individuals each year for induction. The ceremonies take place each fall in conjunction with an OHS football game.

Friends, this is a tough one to share 💔 Our good friend, OHS teacher, coach, and the man who started the Ottawa High School Wall of Honor, Gary K***z, passed away yesterday in Wichita. Gary's vision for the Wall of Honor has been carried on by many, and he was always grateful for that! He will be missed ❤️🤍

On Thursday, September 18, we welcomed our 2025 Wall of Honor Inductees during a ceremony held in the Performing Arts Center at Ottawa High School.

*Richard Dixon Martin - OHS '50 (deceased - represented by his brother and Wall of Honor Inductee from 1998, John Martin)

*Craig A. Davis - OHS '64

*Lt. Colonel Douglas Nickelson - OHS '74

Induction into the OHS Wall of Honor is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a graduate. With this Induction class there are now 91 men and women represented as Inductees on the wall, which stands in the northwest section of the lobby of the PAC.

You're invited to the 2025 Ottawa High School Wall of Honor Induction Ceremony this evening at 6pm at the Ottawa High School Performing Arts Center.

The 2025 Inductees:

Richard "Dick" Martin, Class of 1950 (deceased)

Craig Davis, Class of 1964

Doug Nickelson, Class of 1974

The ceremony is free and open to the public.

Induction into the Wall of Honor is the highest honor granted to an OHS graduate.
