Leadership. Resilience. Inspiration.

Ottawa University was honored to welcome Colonel Edward L. Hubbard, retired U.S. Air Force officer and Vietnam War prisoner of war, as the featured speaker at yesterday’s David C. Owen Leadership Institute event in Fredrikson Chapel.

Colonel Hubbard spent more than six and a half years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. Drawing on those extraordinary experiences, he shared a powerful message about overcoming adversity, maintaining a positive mindset, and recognizing the potential within each of us.

Having previously visited OU in 2016, Colonel Hubbard returned to share his remarkable story and inspire another generation of Braves.

The David C. Owen Leadership Institute continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills, discover their potential, and learn from individuals whose lives exemplify courage, perseverance, and service.

Thank you, Colonel Hubbard, for reminding us that even in life's most difficult circumstances, the human spirit has the power to persevere.

BRAVES. FRIENDS. FOREVER CONNECTED. 🖤💛

Now this was a pretty great place to OU Connect! 🦈🐠

We had a wonderful evening at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium bringing together Braves, family and friends for good conversation, plenty of catching up and a chance to enjoy the aquarium together.

And really, that’s what OU Connect is all about.

No long program. No formal presentation. Just opportunities to get together, reconnect with old friends, meet some new ones and stay connected to Ottawa University.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a fun one!

We’re looking forward to bringing OU Connect to more places and reconnecting with even more Braves along the way.

Where would you like to see OU Connect next? 👀
