Yesterday, Putnam County counselors joined together at the Su***de Awareness Run/Walk at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. As school counselors, this holds a very special place in our hearts.

Every day, we have students who are carrying things we may not see—anxiety, sadness, loneliness, grief, stress, or struggles they may not know how to put into words. Sometimes, the most important thing we can do is simply notice, listen, and remind them that they matter.

Yesterday, was a reminder that no one should have to struggle alone. We walk to break the stigma surrounding su***de. We walk to bring awareness to the importance of mental health. We walk for the students, families, friends, and community members who are struggling. And we walk in memory of those whose lives were lost.
We also know that it takes an entire community to create hope.

💙 Every step matters. Every conversation matters. Every life matters.
