📢 New Opportunity for Putnam County Manufacturers!

JobsOhio and Regional Growth Partnership Northwest Ohio have launched a new program to help companies grow their skilled technician pipeline.

Employers can earn up to $10,000 for employees completing eligible credentials, degrees, or apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing.

WPPC will serve as the Putnam County representative. Reach out to us to learn more!

Day 3 Educator Bootcamp!
The big takeaway today was ownership, responsibility and responsibility at all levels of their employees.
Also, there are a lot of apprenticeships offered right here in Putnam County with earn and learn opportunities.

Day 2 in the books:
13 educators are participating in a week learning about local employers needs.
Skills needed: verbal communication, critical thinking, be on time and willing to learn.
Yesterday, we hosted a panel of employers with a lot of AI and training discussion.
Today we visited Endera, Whirlpool and Nelson.

Today, Gov DeWine announced that the WPPC was one of 22 ISPs awarded a grant through the Ohio Industry Sector Partnership Program!! This will fund our programming for the next year!!!

Making Connections!

Our first Manufacturing Futures – Student & Parent Mfg Night

Last night, 47 students and their parents spent their evening inside local manufacturing facilities, connecting directly with employers and exploring real career opportunities right here in Putnam County. A big thank you to our local manufacturers who stepped up, opened their doors, and made this experience possible.

Students were invited to attend based on their results from YouScience, a career aptitude and interest assessment used by our local schools. YouScience helps identify students’ natural strengths and matches them with potential career pathways—including opportunities in advanced manufacturing.

This allowed us to intentionally invite students who have both the interest and aptitude for manufacturing careers, creating more meaningful conversations with employers.

During the event, students and parents had the opportunity to tour facilities, meet directly with employers, and gain a better understanding of what modern manufacturing looks like—right here in Putnam County. Great connections were made between students, parents, and employers, helping to build stronger awareness of local career opportunities.

A special thank you to our participating manufacturers: ADS, County Electric, Endera, MPI, Nelson Manufacturing, PRO-TEC, PPI, Remlinger, Steel Tech, and Whirlpool for opening your doors and investing in the future workforce of our community.
