Grand Valley State adds 15 newcomers for 2026-27: 14 incoming freshmen and 1 transfer.

We reached out to the program and Coach Boudro got back to us with his incoming group, shown on the graphic. He was kind enough to share their GPAs as well, and the freshman class averages a 3.63 in the classroom, with Cade Dunn of Missouri arriving at a perfect 4.0.

On the mat, this class is loaded. Seven 2026 Michigan state champions are in it: Mason Haines, Braden Broderick, and Fred Hammond from D3, and Luke Egan, Bryce Morrison, Bradley Meyers, and Layne O'Neil from D2. Lane Blanchard and Blake Sloan both reached state finals, and Brice LaFleur of Saline placed 3rd at D1 120 with a 47-3 season. Hammond and O'Neil both bring Fargo placements on top of it.

The transfer side adds Buddy Leonard, who wrestled at Alma and Freeland before spending last season at Davenport.

**Correction from Coach Boudro: Bradley Meyers carries a 3.66, bumping the class average to 3.67."

🌊 More Than Just Practice: Building Something Special 🤼‍♂️
Take a look at these smiles! Today wasn't about the mats or the whistle—it was about the community we are building.
Our team family hit the beach today, and it was exactly what the kids needed. They swam, floated, played games, took home some great prizes, and just got to chill. More than anything, today was about filling up their personal "heart" bank accounts and deepening the relationships that make this team a true family.
But of course, we couldn't resist a little team-building lesson! We reminded our future leaders about a core value of our room: how important it is to pull your own weight. On the beach or on the mats, everyone has a job to do, and we succeed when we all commit to doing our part.
People often ask how you build resilient athletes. The truth is simple: love and strong relationships make tough kids. When athletes know they are supported by an unbreakable community, they aren't afraid to push past their limits.
We are building tough competitors, great leaders, and lifelong bonds here. If you want your child to be part of an environment that challenges them to grow while surrounding them with a second family, this is the place to be.
Don't miss out on what we're building. See you all at practice this week! 🦅💪
