Adams County Sheriff Posse Scholarship
Class of 2026
Amount: $750 each – 2 recipients
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this scholarship is to award a minimum of two $750 scholarships to graduating seniors of Adams County High Schools, who plans to enter the Law Enforcement field or the AFNR (Ag.) field to enrich the lives of animals and who will be attending a two year, four year college, university or a special trade school of your choice following graduating.
Application:
1)Apply through the Scholarship Coordinator
2) Graduate of a High School of Adams County.
3) List of school and community activities (camps, clinics, etc).
4) Accomplishments in Law Enforcement or Agriculture, (awards etc) completed.
5) Written recommendation from at least one law Enforcement or Agriculture teacher must be included.
6) A minimum of (500) words and (5) five paragraphs, explanation why you should receive this award.
CRITERIA:
1) Open to all that meet the criteria, with special consideration given to a student that has a family member in the Adams County Sheriff Posse.
2) Presently completed or enrolled in a Criminal Justice course or two years with a preference in the Explorer Program or notable interest. Submit a separate essay explaining how you became interested. Provide information on what your goals of Criminal Justice involvement.
3) Or a minimum of 2 years in the AFNR (Ag.) program along with 2 years in FFA or 4- H.
4) With a minimum of 3.0 + GPA
5) How long have you had this interest in this line of work and what stimulated it.
Selection Committee:
The selection committee will screen all applications and reserve the right to interview the applicants before selecting the recipient.
AWARDED WHEN HOW:
Presented at the scholarship awards night of Othello or at the time of graduation. The money will be sent to you upon receipt from an accredited school of the first quarter grades with a minimum grade point average of 3.0+ along with your next quarter class schedule presented to in person to Karen Schell, or mail to: Attention: Scholarship Karen Schell, P O Box 489, Othello, WA 99344.
