Here is the overflow of the Class of 2026...we miss you guys!!!!

Now that we've said goodbye to the Class of 2026, let's check them out one more time!!!!!! We miss you all already!!!! There will be another post with the last few seniors...it would only let me post 80 pics!

Yesterday was the unofficial end to our jazz activities for the year. Our top jazz band went to Traughber and worked with their jazz band after school, and then our combo put together about two hours of music in conjunction with Red Robin Night for the band program.

Congratulations Braden Pawlisz, our fine arts Student of the Month! Braden is an all state Bass Trombone player, section leader in our marching band, plays in our top jazz band, and is a Band-Aide. 4 other band students, Cadence, Ava, Marie, and another Ava, were chosen by other classes as well.

This weekend, our OHS Wind Symphony was one of three groups invited to participate in the Western Illinois Showcase of Bands, where they participated in clinics, social performances, and gave a concert with a nationally known guest conductor. Local news did a story on the event to come by and our band was featured prominently throughout. Check it out!

Western Illinois University’s 53rd Showcase of Bands highlights music’s next generation The 53rd annual Showcase of Bands took place at Western Illinois University on Saturday, Feb. 21.

Last weekend, our band boosters put on another successful BandCake Breakfast!! featuring sets by all three of our jazz bands and our pep band, many pancakes were eating, and they secured over $3,500 for our program!!!

Wow, what a week it has been!! Here’s all we had/have going on:
1) Our crew of All-Staters had a great time in Peoria for three days of making music and memories with the other best student musicians in the state.
2) Our Winter Guard had their first competition of the season, and has another one on Sunday.
3) Our Pep Band has/had their last two dates of the season.
4) Our Wind Synphony and Jazz 1 had a great concert at Wentz Hall in Naperville.
5) Our Percussion Ensemble has their first
outside event in many years tomorrow at VanderCook College of Music.

What a week!!

Aurora was rocking Tuesday night, as our Orange and Blue Jazz Bands played at the Venue, opening up for the Pete Ellman Big Band. Not only did the bands have incredible energy and sound great, but a few members of the band got to sit in with the professionals. It was a great night of music!!!
